Norfolk 9-Time Convicted Felon Sentenced For Drug, Gun Charges: DOJ A Norfolk man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for multiple gun and drug charges, federal officials reported. Demetrius McGregor, 37, was sentenced on July 25 after his 2017 arrest in front of his Norfolk apartment, for his involvement in a suspected murder, according to the Department of Justice. 11-Year-Old Boy Believed Hit-Run Driver In DC Crash That Seriously Hurt 7-Year-Old: Police D.C. Police are investigating a serious car crash involving a 7-year-old who was hit by an 11-year-old driver, officials said. At around 6:50 p.m. on July 25, officers reported to a parking lot in the 1800 block of Mississippi Avenue, where they discovered that the driver of a 2020 Kia Optima hit a 7-year-old and then crashed onto a curb, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Tipped Tractor-Trailer Traps Driver, Stops Henrico Traffic: Developing A jackknifed and partially tipped tractor-trailer stopped traffic on I-295 in Henrico on Tuesday, July 26.The incident occurred on the ramp to I-64 at around 3 p.m., stopping all southbound traffic, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The driver of the tractor-trailer was trapped inside the vehicle but, was eventually able to get out, developing and unconfirmed reports said. Three Suspects Steal Over $2,000 Worth Of Target Items: Leesburg Police The Leesburg Police are attempting to identify individuals who recently stole thousands of dollars in items from Target, authorities said. On July 22, three suspects were seen in a Target located at 1200 Edwards Ferry Road, where they stole over $2,000 worth of items, the Leesburg Police Department reported, Police said they believe these three suspects were working together to shoplift all of the items. Woodbridge Man Who Sexually Assaulted 12-Year-Old In 2018, Arrested: Police Police have arrested a 42-year-old Woodbridge man for sexually assaulting a then 12-year-old in the summer of 2018, officials said.On July 25, Jose Lopez was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor, who recently identified him when the incident was reported to the police, Prince William County Police said. Virginia Woman Sentenced To 55 Years In Prison For 2-Year-Old Son's Murder A 37-year-old woman from Hampton was sentenced to 55 years behind bars for her son's murder, NBC4 reported. On July 25, Julia Tomlin pled guilty to second-degree murder, concealing a dead body, and other related offenses, according to the outlet. Tomlin's two-year-old son drowned while he was unsupervised in the bath in 2019, and Tomlin, who was allegedly on heroin, later left his dead body in a box at at a trash incinerator, NBC said.
