Police are investigating a serious car crash involving a 7-year-old who was hit by an 11-year-old driver, officials said.  At around 6:50 p.m. on July 25, officers reported to a parking lot in the 1800 block of Mississippi Avenue, where they discovered that the driver of a 2020 Kia Optima hit a 7-year-old and then crashed onto a curb, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.  Police said that after further investigating the incident, they discovered the driver of the Kia was an 11-year-old boy who could not reach the brakes of the car to prevent him from hitting the 7…

Tipped Tractor-Trailer Traps Driver, Stops Henrico Traffic: Developing A jackknifed and partially tipped tractor-trailer stopped traffic on I-295 in Henrico on Tuesday, July 26.The incident occurred on the ramp to I-64 at around 3 p.m., stopping all southbound traffic, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The driver of the tractor-trailer was trapped inside the vehicle but, was eventually able to get out, developing and unconfirmed reports said.  The incident also caused major damage to the ramp's walls, according to initial reports. Virginia Woman Sentenced To 55 Years In Prison For 2-Year-Old Son's Murder A 37-year-old woman from Hampton was sentenced to 55 years behind bars for her son's murder, NBC4 reported.  On July 25, Julia Tomlin pled guilty to second-degree murder, concealing a dead body, and other related offenses, according to the outlet.  Tomlin's two-year-old son drowned while he was unsupervised in the bath in 2019, and Tomlin, who was allegedly on heroin, later left his dead body in a box at at a trash incinerator, NBC said.
