SUV Slams Through Building In DC D.C. Fire and Emergency Services worked to remove a car that drove into a building on Friday, July 22, officials said. Fire crews reported to the 2600 block of Virginia Avenue, where the Subaru Forester had driven into the building, D.C. Fire and EMS reported. Officials stabilized the vehicle to safely remove the driver, who declined further medical treatment, authorities said. Another driver was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries, fire officials said. D.C. Fire and EMS said there were no structural integrity issues with the building.

Driver Running Red Light Causes Deadly Crash In Dumfries: Police A 76-year-old man died in a car accident when a pickup driver ran a red light in Dumfries, police said. Marvin Floom was driving his 2018 Lexus on July 21 sometime before 8:33 a.m., when he was hit by a Ford F-150 in the middle of the Dumfries Road and Country Club Road intersection, Prince William County Police reported. Police responded to reports of a shooting around  7:40 p.m. July 21 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Fox5DC said.  The victim, whose condition was not disclosed, was taken to a local hospital and the suspect, who had barricaded herself in a room, was taken into custody, according to Fox5DC. Rare Lobster Rescued From Virginia Red Lobster Restaurant Dies "Freckles" the rare Calico lobster rescued from a Manassas Red Lobster restaurant, has died.  He was a 1 in 30 million crustacean that was found in a 2021 shipment for a local Red Lobster, according to The Virginia Living Museum.  Freckles was donated to the museum and was spending his days there.  He was in the process of shedding his exoskeleton, but Freckles', in his old age, couldn't muster the energy that required, and he died on July 16.

Serious Crash Reported In Abermarle (Developing) Authorities were investigating a serious accident on Thursday, July 21 that involved a cab and a dump truck  in Albermarle County, according to unconfirmed and developing reports. Police responded to Louisa Road and Tally Ho Farm Road where they allegedly discovered an overturned dump truck and a taxi wrapped around a tree, initial reports said.  The roadway was closed in both directions, according to initial reports.  This story is still developing.
