Pregnant Woman Struck In Southeast D.C. Shooting Where Nearly 100 Rounds Were Fired: Report A pregnant woman is in stable condition after she was shot in Southeast D.C., according to WJLA. Officers arrived at the Parkchester Apartments near Birney Place at around 3 p.m. on July 27, where they discovered a pregnant woman had been shot multiple times, the outlet reported. 90 shots were fired during the shooting and law enforcement did not believe the woman, who is the property manager of the apartments, was the intended target, WJLA said. Shoplifter Assaults Deputies, Attempts To Grab Firearm In Struggle: Police An Ashburn man was arrested after he assaulted two officers when they confronted him about shoplifting, police said. On July 26 at around 1 p.m., Sady Ashkar, 32, was approached by officers at the Sterling Costco in the 21300 block of Pride Cascades Plaza, as he was in the process of shoplifting, according to Loudoun County Police. Rider Dies After Crashing On Milled Section Of Asphalt In Fairfax: Police A 63-year-old motorcycle driver died in a crash on a milled area of asphalt in Fairfax, police said. Officers were investigating the incident, which occurred around 6:15 p.m. on June 29, when Brian Perry lost control of his 2007 Kawaski bike as he transitioned between paved and milled road, according to Fairfax County Police. Virginia Embezzlers Stole Over $250,000 From Electric Company: Police Three Virginia men were charged on Wednesday July 27, after they embezzled thousands of dollars from an electrical company, officials said. Daughter Kills Mom In DC Home: Police A Washington D.C. woman was arrested and charged for her mother's murder, police said. Police responded to the 1600 block of Webster Street at around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, where they found Marilyn Payne, 69, dead after suffering apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
