Man Wanted On Three Active Warrants Nabbed By Police A Fairfield County man wanted on numerous warrants was nabbed by police. Terry Garrett, 56, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 14 by Milford Police in regards to three active warrants for his arrest. According to Milford Police, Garrett is accused of stealing a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident in the stolen vehicle in June 2020. One Person Injured After Car Slams Into Long Island Home One person was injured after a car plowed into a Long Island home. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Tuesday, at 1 Doone Drive, in Syosset, said the Nassau County Police. When the vehicle hit the building, it severed the gas line, police said. Firefighters were able to turn off the gas until National Grid arrived on the scene to fix the line. The person injured received minor injures, but was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police added.

Man Caught Shoplifting Left Kids Home Alone, Norwalk Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested after being caught for alleged shoplifting at a Walmart store and then telling police he left his small children at home. Christian Otero, 37, of Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 13, after running from a Walmart security officer with alleged stolen merchandise, said Lt. Jared Zwickler, of the Norwalk Police. Man Goes Missing After Leaving For Work In Greenwich Over Weekend Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help locating a man who has been missing for several days. Christopher Harris, 49, of Bridgeport, was last seen on Saturday, Dec. 12, after leaving for a job in Greenwich, police said. Harris never returned home from the job and family members contacted police. He is said to be a diabetic and may be in need of medication. CT State Police Preparing For Major Nor'easter Bringing Heavy Snowfall, Strong Winds As one of the strongest snowstorms in years heads for the region, the Connecticut State Police is warning drivers to be prepared and stay off the roadways if possible. The storm, which is forecast to arrive in the late afternoon on Wednesday, Dec. 16, is expected to dump up to a foot or more of snow and produce wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour. During the storm, state police are urging drivers to stay off the roads, if at all possible, to allow Department of Transportation drivers to clear highways. Man Killed After Being Hit By Lirr Train A man was killed after being hit by a train on Long Island. The incident took place around 10 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 115, when a Ronkonkoma-bound train fatally struck a male at the Long Island Railroad Carle Place station, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for the MTA. Train service through the area resumed at 10:38 p.m. with residual delays on one of the tracks and was on-or-close to schedule by 12:15 a.m.  The person has not been identified. Stamford Man Charged With Reckless Endangerment After Pistol Stolen From Car, Police Say A 29-year-old man who reported that his handgun had been stolen out of his unlocked vehicle has been charged with reckless endangerment in Fairfield County. Tyler Burchard, of Stamford, reported that his 9mm Smith & Wesson semiautomatic pistol was stolen last week out of the unlocked center console of his car, which parked in the driveway of his home, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin said. Burchard was also charged with the unsafe storage of a firearm in a vehicle, Conklin said. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
