Person Killed In Southeast I-684 Crash Involving Car, Dump Truck
An early morning two-vehicle crash on northbound I-684 near the Putnam/Northern Westchester border left one person dead, according to the New York State Police.
The crash, between a car and a dump truck, occurred around 12:30 a.m., Thursday, in the northbound lanes in Southeast, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
Following the crash, the northbound lanes were closed until 7 a.m., while state police investigated the fatal crash, he said.
Information was not available regarding which driver was killed and if there were other injuries.

Autopsy Pending In Rockland Sheriff Deputy's Shooting Death
The mystery surrounding the shooting death of Rockland County Sheriff Deputy Frank Farina on Tuesday continues as New York State Police wait for autopsy results.The shooting took place around 1:30 p.m. as Farina, who was off-duty from his position as a corrections officer, and his wife, Jennifer Farina, were driving on Long Mountain Parkway in the Town of Woodbury in Orange County, said Trooper Steven Nevel.

Former Rockland Undersheriff Thomas J. Guthrie Dies
Thomas John Guthrie, the former Rockland County Undersheriff, died on Sunday, Nov. 12, at Nyack Hospital. He was 85.
Guthrie, who lived in Haverstraw, was born in the Bronx on Dec. 6, 1931, to Thomas and Delia (Bridget White) of Co. Clare, Liscannor, Ireland and attended St. Luke's Grammar School and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in Washington Heights.
He married Catherine Purtell on July 5, 1952, at St. Luke's Church in the Bronx, and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Westchester Man, 21, Sentenced For Two-Year Crime Spree
A Westchester man was sentenced to two to six years in state prison on Tuesday for a crime spree that lasted almost two years, according to the Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr.
Devon Sherman, 21, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to two to six years in state prison by Judge Barbara Zambelli after pleading guilty on Sept. 27, to burglary, grand larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
