She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze On King Street In Port Chester This story has been updated. WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Firefighters rushed to the scene of a two-alarm fire on King Street in Port Chester in which a dog may be trapped inside. The fire started around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at a two-story home located at 340 King St. Multiple fire departments responded to help douse the flames that could be seen shooting from numerous second-story windows. Train Strikes Spring Valley Woman's Car In Congers A Spring Valley woman was able to get out of her car before it was hit by CSX train on the tracks in Congers. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m., Sunday when the woman was turning onto Rockland Avenue when her vehicle became stuck on the tracks, police said. The woman was able to get out of her Hyundai safely before the being rammed by the southbound train, police said. The crossing was closed for an hour as a tow truck removed the car and a safety inspection was conducted on the tracks. Click here to watch the video.

Florida Drops Extradition Of Stony Point Man For Probation Violation This story has been updated. Stony Point Police report that a man being held at the Rockland County Jail for being a fugitive from justice out of Florida has been released after Florida officials declined to extradite him to face charges. Wappinger Employee Pleads Not Guilty To Illegal Nude Recordings A Town of Wappinger employee who is charged with 41-counts of illegally recording nude subjects in his home pleaded not guilty on Friday, Dec. 15, according to the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office. Michael P. Kelly, 54, a Wappingers Falls resident, was first arrested in March on one count of felony unlawful surveillance, according to Senior Assistant District Attorney Michael Brady. Poughkeepsie Man Nabbed For Felony DWI On Route 44/55 A Poughkeepsie man is behind bars after being stopped for speeding on Route 44/55 in the town of Lloyd and was found to be driving while drunk, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Department. Gurtaj S. Garcha, 32, was charged after being stopped around 7:30 p.m. Monday for speeding, with the felonies of aggravated DWI and driving with a blood alcohol content in excess of 0.18 percent, sheriff officials said.
