Man Wanted For Sex Assault Nabbed In Newburgh A man wanted on a 44-count indictment for multiple sexual assault and child pornography charges was nabbed Wednesday at the Super 8 Motel in Newburgh, according to Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois. Paul Carper, 46, of Radford, Va., was arrested at the motel at 1287 Route 300, by members of the  U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, which includes a member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.  Carper s being held without bail at the Orange County Jail, awaiting extradition to Virginia.

High Falls Woman Charged In Domestic Dispute Stabbing A 37-year-old High Falls woman was charged with stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic dispute that became physical, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. Woman Fatally Struck In Yonkers May Have Known Suspect, Reports Say A young woman who was hit and killed by a car around 10 a.m. Wednesday may have known her killer, according to News 12. The scene where the woman was run down at 354 Nepperhan Ave., has become an emotional crime scene as family members and friends gather to mourn, the news outlet said. News 12 is also reporting that a suspect is in custody. Yonkers police are asking motorists to avoid the area near Nepperhan Avenue as police investigate the death of a woman who was struck by a car. The incident took place around 10 a.m., Wednesday, on Nepperhan Avenue near Ashburton Avenue, according to Yonkers Police Spokesman Sgt. Incident Causes Lockdown At Dutchess County Jail An incident with a single inmate caused a temporary lockdown at the Dutchess County Jail late last week, according to jail administrator Michael Walters. The lockdown, where inmates are kept in their cells, took place Friday after one inmate became unruly and it took several corrections officers to calm him down and take him to the medical unit, Walters said.
