Threat To Wappinger Central School District Under Investigation The East Fishkill Police Department is working with Wappinger Central School officials to assess a report of threatening statements made by a 12-year-old Van Wyck Junior High School student. After receiving the report Monday, detectives have been conducting interviews and visiting homes of those students involved in the report, said East Fishkill Police Chief Kevin Keefe. Because all involved are juveniles, no further details are being disclosed regarding the investigation, police said. Man Found Shot To Death In Bridgeport Motel An unidentified man was found dead in a motel room in Bridgeport, the fourth homicide of the year. Police received a call around 11:30 p.m. Monday of shots fired at the Sunny Side Inn, 145 Lake St., said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. When officers arrived on scene they found a middle-aged black male who suffered at least one gunshot wound, said Harris. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, he added. HS Student In Westchester Arrested After Snapchat Threat A Valhalla teen has been arrested for the false reporting of an incident after posting a Snapchat video of an animated picture of a bomb going off above Valhalla High School, said Mount Pleasant Police. Suffern Man Sentenced For DWI Crash That Nearly Killed Victim A Suffern man convicted last year of vehicular assault and DWI after leaving the scene of a crash that left a man seriously injured has been sentenced to five years in prison, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe. Jonathan Elwell, 36, was found guilty by a jury in September 2017 of felony assault, two counts of felony vehicular assault, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident. ID Released For Man Struck, Killed By Car In Bridgeport A Bridgeport man killed after being hit by two vehicles trapped underneath one, has been identified. Antoine Simutone, also known as Aaron, 38, of Park Avenue, was hit at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Park and Olive streets, said Av Harris, the City of Bridgeport's director of legislative affairs/public policy. Threat To Northern Westchester School Came From Out Of State, Police Say Police identified the origin Monday of a Twitter threat the led to the closure of The Harvey School in Katonah on Friday. Man Seriously Injured After Being Hit By SUV In Middletown A man is hospitalized with a serious head injury after being hit by an SUV Sunday on Wickham Avenue in Middletown, according to the Middletown Police Department. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. when a 68-year-old driver of a 2015 Honda CRV, hit the man, a Middletown resident, just east the intersection with North Street, police said. Man Wanted For Dragging Officers In Bridgeport Taken Into Custody A man wanted for dragging two Bridgeport police officers during a traffic stop, was nabbed during a raid by U.S. Marshals.Naquan Clarke, 22, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals from Connecticut and New York City after he was spotted inside a residence on 157th St., in Queens, said Brian O’Neill, with the U.S. Marshals District of Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force.
