She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Roadway Reopens Following Fatal Fishkill Crash This story has been updated. A portion of Route 9D near Castle Point that was closed for more than four hours, has re-opened following a fatal two-car crash in the Town of Fishkill, according to Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Capt. John Watterson. The crash, which occurred around 9 a.m. Monday claimed one life, Watterson said. Additional information about the crash is expected later Monday, check back to Daily Voice.

Port Jervis Man Found Dead Inside Apartment Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a local man found dead inside his Orange County home. John Gafycz, 57, of Port Jervis, was found dead on Friday after police were contacted to make a wellness check after he was not seen or heard from for an extended period by his neighbors and friends, police said. Officers conducting the check at 82 East Main Street, Apt 5, found Gafycz dead after forcing their way inside his apartment around 3 p.m. police said. Greenwich Man Charged With Making Girlfriend 'Fearful' A Greenwich man was arrested after getting into a fight with his girlfriend and then following, and threatening her, according to Greenwich Police. Christian Dilworth, 23, was charged Saturday with breach of peace, after following the woman, making her feel "alarmed and fearful," police said. He is being held on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

ID Released For Woman Killed In Route 9W Crash The driver of a car involved in a fatal crash Friday on Route 9W in Congers has been identified as a local woman, according to Clarkstown Police. Helen Cifuni, 57, of Congers sustained massive injuries during the crash around 5:20 p.m. Friday in the area of 259 Route 9W, said Clarkstown Police Officer Peter Walker. Cifuni was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash by paramedics. Police Investigating Threat To Northern Westchester School Click here for an updated story: Threat To The Harvey School Came From Out Of State, Police Say Bedford Police were on site at The Harvey School in Katonah on Monday after the school was closed on Friday following a Twitter threat, according to the Bedford Police. Man Caught With Defaced Handguns In Newburgh A Newburgh man was busted with two illegal handguns during a traffic stop by Orange County Sheriff's deputies. Tyrek Jones, 24, was arrested on Thursday following the stop on Benkard Avenue in Newburg, said Orange County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Arteta. While speaking with Jones, deputies noticed the smell of marijuana inside the vehicle. Jones admitted to having smoked in the vehicle recently. Greenwich Police Bust Area Man For Steroids A Stamford man was busted for possession of steroids by Greenwich Police following a traffic stop for not having a front license plate. Mark Pjetri, 36, was stopped on Wednesday around 6 p.m. on West Rich Avenue by officers patrolling the area, said Lt. John Slusarz. Putnam Sheriff Calls School Resource Officers 'Instrumental' In light of the deadly massacre in Parkland, Florida, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department has reviewed its school safety procedures and evaluated its preparedness in an effort to reassure the public and to make sure the department is ready to react to any situation. Record-High Gun Control Support After Florida Rampage, Quinnipiac Poll Says In the wake of the mass shooting in Florida last week, a new national poll shows that Americans are ready for tougher gun laws and are fed up with the lack of support from lawmakers.
