21-Year-Old Newburgh Man Sentenced For Having Loaded Semiautomatic Pistol A 21-year-old Newburgh man was sentenced to nine years in prison for having a loaded .380 semi-automatic pistol, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. Frederick L. Blue, 21, was also sentenced to five years post-release supervision. Blue pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in November. ID Released For Victim Of Fairfield County Motel Homicide A 48-year-old man has been identified as the city's fourth homicide victim of the year, according to Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Alfanso Anderson, 48, of Ezra Street in Bridgeport, was found dead Monday at a local inn, Harris said. Police received a call around 11:30 p.m. Monday of shots fired at the Sunny Side Inn, 145 Lake St., Harris said. When officers responded, they found Anderson dead, who had been shot at least once. Police did not release any additional information regarding the shooting or what might have led to the violence.

ID Released For Victim Of Fatal I-287 Crash The man who was killed Tuesday night in a crash on I-287 has been identified. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver of a box truck, John P. Riofrio, 48, of New York City, was traveling eastbound on I-287 when he collided with another vehicle at around 7:33 p.m. between Exits 9A and 10 in Harrison on the eastbound side, state police said. Four Shot In Bridgeport Deli Fight Four people were shot overnight in Bridgeport, according to Av Harris, the police spokesman. The four were shot 1306 Stratford Ave., at the Sunshine Deli,  around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to Harris. Three victims are at Bridgeport Hospital and one is at St. Vincent Hospital, Harris said. The St. Vincent Hospital victim was shot in the stomach. Other shooting victims received surface wounds, and one was shot in the hand, he added.  The victims were dropped off at the different hospitals by unknown persons.  The shootings are under investigation.

Threat Leads To Two-Hour Delay At Pleasantville Schools Pleasantville schools opened two-hour late Wednesday after a threat was made by a student, according to Pleasantville Police. Police were notified around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday by a school district administrator of a threat that a student made against Pleasantville Middle School.  Police said they interviewed the student and his parents and deemed the threat not be credible, police said. "The Pleasantville Police Department will continue to cooperate with school officials to ensure a safe environment for students and staff at all three local campuses," police said in a statement.
