Man Nabbed For Four Gas Station Robberies, Fairfield Police Say An Easton man was nabbed for four gas station robberies that took place over the past three months. Conlin William Mellen, 24, was arrested Monday by Fairfield Police for four counts of robbery and four counts of larceny in connection with the four robberies, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras. Clarkstown Closes Numerous Road Due To Flooding Clarkstown Police are advising motorists that numerous roads are closing due to flooding and that several cars are stuck in the water. Current road closures are as follows: S.Pascack Road/ Forman Drive, Nanuet Strawtown Road/ Parrot Road Bardonia Road/Germonds Road Route 59/ Palisades Center Drive Route 303 at the Route 59 overpass At least one person had to be rescued by firefighters in the Nanuet area as police work to close roads. Ramapo Police closed Sterling Mine Road around 8:30 a.m. Monday after the fire department reported the downed lines. Family Of Three Displaced Following Two-Alarm Milan Fire A family of three are temporarily homeless following a chimney fire that ripped through the two-story home in Milan. The fire started around 3 p.m. Sunday, at 123 Shookville Road, said Jeffrey Galm, second assistant chief for the Milan Fire Department. Ralph, 23, of Wallkill, was arrested on Wednesday grand larceny, attempted grand larceny, unlawfully dealing with a child and petit larceny, said New York State Trooper Steven Nevel. Newburgh Police Department Mourns Loss Of Sgt. Paul Horaz The City of Newburgh Police Department is mourning the loss of one its own following the death of Sgt. Paul Horaz. The department announced the 30-year veteran's passing on Facebook Friday. Horaz began working for the department in parking enforcement in 1988 and became a police officer in 1990.  "Sgt Horaz was a dedicated professional spending more than half of his life to serving the residents of the City of Newburgh," the department said.  Arrangements have not been made.
