She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Stamford Seat-Belt Stops Results In Gummy Candy Infused With Pot Discovery A stop for a seat-belt violation by Stamford Police led to the arrest of a local man on charges of having two packages of pot-infused gummy candies. Kenny Segura, of Stamford, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after Officers Jonathan Gale and Matthew Romano stopped the car he was riding in for a seat-belt violation on West Park Place, said Sgt. Brian Butler. As the two officers approached the car, they could smell marijuana, and Segura, the passenger, said he had some. Man Charged With Assault After MidHudson Hospital Reports Attack A 23-year-old Hyde Park man was arrested on assault charges after police responded to the MidHudson Regional Hospital for a report that a man had been attacked. After responding to the hospital to interview the 20-year-old victim, Hyde Park police went to a residence off of East Dorsey Lane, where multiple people were interviewed regarding the assault, said Lt. Stamford Man Charged In Double-Fatal Norwalk Crash A Stamford man has been charged with two counts of manslaughter in connection with a double-fatal crash that occurred earlier this year. Anthony Domond, 33, was arrested at 7 a.m. Tuesday by members of the Norwalk Police Department with assistance from the Stamford Police and the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, said Norwalk police Lt. Range Rovers Stolen In Fairfield County Both Recovered In New Jersey Two Range Rovers stolen from driveways in New Canaan have been recovered in two different New Jersey cities. According to New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski, both were stolen on Thursday, April 13, from driveways on Valley Road. Both stolen vehicles were unlocked and the keys were inside of each vehicle. These vehicle thefts occurred during the early morning hours, he said. Motorist Killed When Car Crashes Into Pole In Hudson Valley A 25-year-old man was killed in an overnight single-vehicle crash in Dutchess County. According to New York State Police, Amilcar De Martinez Palma, of Poughkeepsie, died around 1 a.m. Tuesday near Stonykill Road in the town of Wappinger. Shoplifter Nabbed At Greenwich Apple Store, Police Say An 18-year-old Yonkers man was nabbed stealing items from the Apple Store on Greenwich Avenue. The incident took place on Thursday, April 12, when employees from the store called the police to report that three shoplifting suspects from the week before had returned to the store, police said. When police arrived just before 3 p.m., Boubakar S. Toure was apprehended as he was leaving the store, police said. Toure was the only one of the three to be caught. Trapped Dog, Man Rescued In Fairfield County A frisky dog chasing a swan ended up having to be saved, along with a man, by members of the Shelton Fire Department. The rescue took place Saturday morning after the dog chased after a swan, and the man chasing the dog became trapped in muddy waters. Crews from Huntington Fire Company 3 Crews had to trek through a swamp to reach both who were stuck on a muddy strip of land in the middle of the water. Worker Dies After Falling From Tree In Fairfield County A worker from a local tree removal company died after falling from a tree that he was removing from the property of a Trumbull home. Eris Banegas-Gomes, 28, of Bridgeport, was wearing a safety harness around 9 a.m. Saturday, as he climbed the tree to a height of about 45 feet at the Pinewood Trail home, police said. He then began removing the top portion of the tree, when the tree broke off at its base. The tree, with Banegas-Gomes, still attached, fell directly to the ground, police said. Town Of Newburgh Police Nab 5 For Robbery, Search For One The Town of Newburgh Police nabbed five of six people involved in a kidnapping/robbery where the victim was taken from a hotel room to an ATM and then dumped on the side of the road, but are still searching for one suspect.
