Narcan Used After Dwai New City Man Crashes Car In Orangeburg A man who overdosed on heroin and crashed his vehicle into a stand of trees in Orangeburg was saved by the use of Narcan. Keith Brady, 32, of New City was discovered around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday when Orangetown Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash at 94 Old Orangeburg Road, said Det. Sgt. Joseph Sullivan. Once on the scene, officers found a 2010 Ford F-150 pick up lodged in a group of trees in the parking area. Judge Throws Out Parents' Sandy Hook Lawsuit A judge has denied a lawsuit filed by the parents of two children killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre against the town of Newtown and its school district. In a 29-page decision, Connecticut Superior Court Judge Robin Wilson granted the town's request for summary judgment saying the school officials' actions were protected by governmental immunity. The case was filed by the parents of slain students Jesse Lewis and Noah Pozner. Orange County Man Sentenced For Heroin Overdose Death A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in prison and three years post-release supervision for selling heroin to a woman who later died of an overdose, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Jay Pagan of Maybrook was sentenced by Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown in connection with selling heroin to the 24-year-old Maybrook woman who died as the result of a possible drug overdose on Jan. 26, the DA's office said. Suspect In Sexual Assault Of Children Caught, Extradited To Norwalk After nearing four years, a man wanted for repeatedly sexually abusing a child has been caught and extradited to Norwalk. The story of the long hunt for Antonio Lazaro Torres-Rodriguez began on Dec. 22, 2014, when the Norwalk Police Department received information that he had been sexually abusing a child in Norwalk over a prolonged period of time, said Sgt. Sofia Gulino. An investigation was quickly initiated, revealing that a second juvenile victim was involved. Police ID Teen Driver Killed In Hyde Park School Bus Crash Police have identified the person killed in a crash with a school bus in the area on Monday morning. According to Lt. Robert Benson, Tondra Lashae Walker, 19, of Poughkeepsie, was pronounced dead at the scene after being partially ejected from her vehicle during the crash that occurred around 8 a.m. Monday on South Quaker Lane and Dana Place in Hyde Park. Poughkeepsie Man Nabbed For Domestic Violence Assault A Poughkeepsie man was nabbed after more than a year for a domestic violence assault in which he never turned up in court. Reginald Alston, 51, was arrested Friday, May 4, on a bench warrant for third-degree assault, said Town of Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso. Alston was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $500 cash bail or $2,000 insurance bond, he said. He is due to appear in court on Thursday.

Stony Point House Fire Considered Suspicious Stony Point Police are investigating a suspicious fire that damaged a home early Wednesday. Officers responded within a minute of getting a report of the blaze around 1:30 a.m. at 40 Filors Lane, said Lt. Daniel Hylas. When officers arrived they found the family had safely escaped without injury, he said. Know Her? Bridgeport Police Searching For Package Thief Know this woman? If so police are asking for your help. The woman, featured in a video here, has been stealing packages off of porches in the West Side area of Bridgeport, said Av Harris, spokesman for the department. In the video, the "porch pirate" is seen carrying one package as she casually walks up to the house and takes a package off the porch before slowly walking away. 25-Year-Old Man Killed In Bear Mountain Bridge Jump A 25-year-old Westchester man was killed after jumping from the Bear Mountain Bridge. The incident took place around 6 p.m. Tuesday when the unidentified man from Mount Pleasant died after jumping from bridge, according to state police. The man parked his vehicle on the side of the road and walked to the mid-span of the bridge where he jumped, said Trooper AJ Hicks, with the state police.
