State Trooper Danielle Miller Killed In Crash Was Speeding, Driving Drunk An off-duty Connecticut state trooper who died in a head-on crash in February was driving nearly 80 miles per hour and had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit, according to Wolcott Police. Mamaroneck Diner Remains Closed Following Illnesses The Mamaroneck Diner will remain closed Monday as it continues sanitizing the building after several people became ill after visiting the popular restaurant. The diner was closed throughout Mother's Day weekend because of the situation. "We have made the decision to close again on Monday in an effort to be as proactive as possible," said a representative of the diner. Crash Damaging Pole Causes Road Closure In Stamford Motorists should take note that a roadway in Stamford remains closed Monday morning following a traffic crash that damaged a power pole, according to Stamford Police. Power company employees are replacing the pole on Pepper Ridge at Vine Road that was smashed during the crash around 8 p.m. Sunday, police said. Police said Pepper Ridge Road will remain closed until the repairs are complete, and did not have an exact time estimate. Officers did not have information on the crash, or if anyone was injured. Complaint Of Pot Odor Leads To Drug Bust A complaint about a strong odor of marijuana and possibly other drug transactions at a Norwalk motel led to the arrest of a local man on drug charges. The Norwalk Police received the complaint around 9 p.m. Wednesday about the smell of pot at the motel at 469 Westport Ave., said Norwalk Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino. Two Women Busted For Shoplifting At Westport Store Two area women were busted for shoplifting at a Westport store after employees observed the two taking items, according to the Westport Police. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. Monday when Destination XL employees reported that two women were shoplifting in the store and when confronted by employees they both left, said Westport Police Lt. Woman Nabbed For Unpaid $12,000 Bill At Westport Spa A Norwalk woman was charged with larceny after not paying a $12,000 bill for services she had performed at Westport MediSpa, according to Westport Police. Sue Stebbing, 63, had a procedure performed at the spa in Dec. 2017 and told the business employees that she would be coming "into money" from a business transaction and would pay them later, said Westport Police Lt. Man Arrested Following New Canaan Domestic Dispute An area man was arrested after New Canaan Police responded to a domestic violence call between two people. Michael Sami El Murr, 30, of Stamford, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Thursday after an investigation into the dispute found he was at fault, said New Canaan Police. Following his arrest, El Murr was released on $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Woman Charged With 'Torturing, Injuring Animal' After Dog's Death A Poughkeepsie woman was arrested after her veterinarian notified police that her dog had died due to abuse, according to the New York State Police. Erica L. Feliciano, 31, was arrested on Thursday after troopers in the Poughkeepsie barracks received complaints from a town of LaGrange veterinary hospital regarding possible animal abuse, said Trooper AJ Hicks, spokesman for the state police.
