Ossining Roadway Reopens, Power Still Out After Tree Falls On Lines This story has been updated. What was originally reported as a transformer explosion in Ossining that closed a road for several hours, knocking out power to dozens of residents, was actually caused after a tree fell on the lines, according to Allan Drury, Con Edison Public Affairs manager, police said. The tree fell around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and dropped lines onto Hudson Street, closing it between Broad Street and Liberty Street as Con Edison employees make repairs. Hudson Valley Cosmetics Company Fined Nearly $300K For Fatal Fire A Hudson Valley cosmetic company is facing almost $300,000 in fines for failing to protect its employees from dangerous chemicals, and other hazards on the day a fire tore through its New Windsor factory, killing one, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Man Arraigned For Attacking Girlfriend's Son With Machete In Hudson Valley A 42-year-old Haverstraw man has been indicted for attempted murder and first- and second-degree assault, after getting into a fight with his girlfriend and attacking her son with a machete, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe. Wappingers Falls Man Caught Dealing Drugs Near Medical Facility, Police Say A Wappingers Falls man was caught dealing drugs near a mental health center after police received a complaint about possible drug activity. Justin F. Zambardino, 27, was busted around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, when the Town of Poughkeepsie Police received the complaint about possible drug dealing in the parking lot of the Dutchess County Mental Health at 230 North Road, said Capt. I-95 Crash Sparks Police, Scuba Diver Search An area man landed in the hospital after losing control of his Ford Explorer, veered across I-95 and landed in a stand of trees, according to the Connecticut State Police. The crash took place around 2 a.m. Sunday south of Exit 3 in Greenwich when Nathan Arturo Herrera-Donalre, 27, of Stamford, was traveling southbound and lost control of his vehicle, struck the metal guardrail, rolled over and then hit the right shoulder before rolling down an embankment and striking trees, state police said. Old Route 22 Closed Following Crash, Downed Wires In Dover Plains Old Route 22 in Dover Plains is closed to traffic after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole, causing power lines to drape near the roadway, said New York State Police. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, the crash took place around 2:24 p.m. Monday at 148 Old Route 22. Currently, traffic is being detoured to Cricket Hill until NYSEG can repair wires. Stamford Woman Charged With Assault After Bar Fight With Boyfriend A fight with her jealous boyfriend landed a Stamford woman in cuffs after she threw a beer bottle his way and instead nailed the bar counter, sending glass shards into his arm, according to Stamford Police. 23-Year-Old Nabbed For ID Theft, Forgery At Cos Cob Bank A man is facing charges for ID theft and forgery after he attempted to withdraw a large sum of money from a local bank, according to Greenwich Police. Taj Davis, 23, of Brooklyn, was charged Saturday with three counts of forgery, identity theft, criminal impersonation and attempt at larceny after being caught by police.
