Fairfield County Man Busted With Heroin Stamford's Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit caught a Fairfield County man as he drove into the city to sell heroin and crack cocaine, said the Stamford Police Department. Joseph Villafane, 34, of Shelton, was arrested Friday around 2 p.m. after officers with the unit received information that he would be arriving in town to deliver drugs, said Capt. Richard Conklin. Investigation Reveals Official Horse Death Count In Hudson Valley Barn Fire The official death count in the early Saturday morning fire that turned deadly at a horse barn in Orange County has been disclosed. The remains of 24 horses were found following the blaze, according to an investigation by Orange County fire officials. Orange County Deputy Fire Commissioner Vini Tankasali said all the horses housed in the barn at the Mount Hope Training Center were killed in the blaze. Stamford Marina Director Busted For Ripping Off Funds The man in charge of supervising Stamford's three marina's turned himself into police after an investigation found he had ripped off more than $60,000 in funds over the past three years, according to Stamford Police. Sean Elumba, 43, of Stamford, was charged Friday with larceny and released on a $50,000 court appearance bond, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. Poughkeepsie Teen Accused Of Knocking Woman Unconscious A Poughkeepsie teen appeared in court Monday to answer charges that he beat a woman unconscious in an attempt to steal her backpack, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police. Maiaire Booker, 17, was arrested Tuesday, May 23, after officers responded to Poughkeepsie home where Booker had attacked the woman, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Fairfield County Man Smashes Police Car Caught With 170 Bags Of Heroin A Fairfield County man with a lengthy criminal history was busted with 170 bags of heroin by the members of the Stamford Police Department's Narc Squad after he smashed into a police car. Westport Police Catch Three Shoplifters With Goods, Tools Westport police nabbed three people for shoplifting after an employee notified authorities that they were stealing items and putting them in a vehicle parked outside, according to Westport Police. Police Seek To ID Suspect In Fairfield County Credit Card Theft The Stratford Police Dept. is attempting to identify a man who is suspected of stealing credit cards from a vehicle in the Paradise Green area, according to Stratford Police. The man allegedly stole the cards and has been using them at different establishments in town, said Capt. Frank Eannotti. Starbucks Employee Rescued After Fall In Westchester Firefighters had to use a unique rig to rescue a Starbucks employee who had fallen through an open grate in the floor and ended up in the basement. The incident took place Friday afternoon at the Starbucks on Palmer Avenue in Larchmont, said Larchmont Fire Chief John Caparelli.
