Hudson Valley Teacher Apologizes For Now Deleted Facebook Post A Hudson Valley teacher is apologizing for a statement he made on Facebook addressing the recent controversies surrounding comments by talk show host Samantha Bee and comedian Roseanne Barr. In a post that has since been deleted, Suffern Middle School music teacher Aaron Minsky posted last weekend that while women can be called vulgar names, blacks cannot be referred to as animals. Crash Involving Reckless Driver Sends Five To Stamford Hospital A Stamford man was charged with causing an accident that sent five people to the hospital, according to the Stamford Police. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday when Kadeem Sadio, 28, was speeding southbound on Hope Street when he slammed into a vehicle pulling out of Donut Delight, said Sgt. Kenneth Jarrett. Jarrett said the impact of the crash was so intense it spun the second car across Hope Street and into the First County Bank property, shearing the driver’s seat off of the floorboards. ID Released For Stamford Woman Found Dead; Death A Homicide This story has been updated. Stamford police are confirming that the death of a local woman who was found covered in blood was a homicide. Capt. Richard Conklin said they are searching for clues and interviewing everyone connected with Eden Claxton, 74, who was found dead around 8:30 a.m. Monday on Hycliff Terrace. The woman's husband, Allen Claxton, 75, was at the home at the time of her death and is being questioned, along with numerous other people, said Conklin. Fairfield Man Driving Under Influence Caught With Drugs In Wilton A Fairfield man was busted for driving while under the influence and drug possession after police watched him blast through a stop sign in Wilton. Lucas Salazar, 26, was arrested 2:30 a.m. Sunday after officers observed him driving over the double yellow line on Ridgefield Road and then failed to stop at the stop sign on Center Street, said Wilton Police. Once stopped, officers could detect an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and the operator, police said. Salazar was administered a field sobriety test which he failed, they added. Fairfield County Teen Killed In Dirt Bike Crash A Fairfield County teen died following a crash after the dirt bike he was riding slammed into the back of a parked dump truck, according to the Milford Police. Vincent Annuzzi-Rivers, 19, died around 3 p.m. Tuesday when the dirt bike he was driving northbound on Lori Drive near Teresa Drive struck the parked dump truck, said the Milford Police. Annuzzi-Rivers died at the scene. Stamford Cancels July 4th Fireworks Due To Budget Cuts Stamford residents looking forward to the July 4th fireworks show should start planning a trip out of town after the city's first round of budget cuts nix the show along with several other city amenities. Fourth-Grader From Fairfield County Killed In Upstate NY Crash A fourth-grade boy from Fairfield County died in a crash while traveling in upstate New York over the weekend, according to the New York State Police. Perrin Delorey, 10, of Westport, died following a two-vehicle crash around 3 p.m. Sunday in Sharon, N.Y., said Trooper Mark J. Cepiel. Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Fairfield County Neighbor's Daughter A local man was sentenced to five in prison for sexually assaulting his neighbor's daughter after contacting her on Snapchat. Marlon Reyes-Delgado, 42, of Bridgeport was sentenced to 10 years in state prison, to 10 years, suspended after he serves five years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, said Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney C. Three-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Busy Road In Mahopac A three-vehicle crash on Baldwin Place Road closed down the roadway for a short time Monday as first responders worked to make sure there were no injuries.
