She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Fairfield County Teen Killed In Dirt Bike Crash A Fairfield County teen died following a crash after the dirt bike he was riding slammed into the back of a parked dump truck, according to the Milford Police. Vincent Annuzzi-Rivers, 19, died around 3 p.m. Tuesday when the dirt bike he was driving northbound on Lori Drive near Teresa Drive struck the parked dump truck, said the Milford Police. Annuzzi-Rivers died at the scene. Stamford Cancels July 4th Fireworks Due To Budget Cuts Stamford residents looking forward to the July 4th fireworks show should start planning a trip out of town after the city's first round of budget cuts nix the show along with several other city amenities. New Advisory For Eastern Coyotes Issued In Northern Westchester Northern Westchester residents are being warned there has been an increased number of Eastern coyote sightings in the area. Because Eastern coyotes are native to the region and considered an integral part of the ecosystems, wildlife officials said it is important for residents to learn how to deal with the animals. Fourth-Grader From Fairfield County Killed In Upstate NY Crash A fourth-grade boy from Fairfield County died in a crash while traveling in upstate New York over the weekend, according to the New York State Police. Perrin Delorey, 10, of Westport, died following a two-vehicle crash around 3 p.m. Sunday in Sharon, N.Y., said Trooper Mark J. Cepiel. Cepiel said it appears the head-on crash occurred after the driver, James C. Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Fairfield County Neighbor's Daughter A local man was sentenced to five in prison for sexually assaulting his neighbor's daughter after contacting her on Snapchat. Marlon Reyes-Delgado, 42, of Bridgeport was sentenced to 10 years in state prison, to 10 years, suspended after he serves five years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, said Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney C. Three-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Busy Road In Mahopac A three-vehicle crash on Baldwin Place Road closed down the roadway for a short time Monday as first responders worked to make sure there were no injuries. The crash occurred a little past 2 p.m., and was reported as a crash with injuries, officials said. Large Gas Explosion Blows Out Windows, Doors At Norwalk Home A man and a woman who is nine months pregnant escaped a large gas explosion at a Norwalk home that blew out all the windows and started a fire. The explosion happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday at 10 Deepwood Lane, according to the Norwalk Fire Department. All the windows and doors were blown off the house, the department said. There's A Bear In My Backyard: Easton Police Report Multiple Incidents A black bear or bears have been busy in Easton recently, with police receiving multiple calls of sightings from residents. Easton Police Capt. Richard Doyle said the numerous sightings on Thursday and Friday are probably the same bear that lives in the area and is just traveling around. On Thursday the department received five calls of bear sighting and another one on Friday. Keep Vehicles Locked, State Police Warning States Connecticut State Troopers are once again reminding residents to lock their vehicles and take their keys after a new round of break-ins has occurred. In the latest thefts, troopers said two women's purses were stolen from two different vehicles parked in the same parking lot. In both instances, the purses were left in plain sight, troopers said. One car was unlocked, and the other had its window smashed so the thief could reach the purse. Johnny Utah's In Norwalk Will Not Reopen After Underage Drinking Bust Following an underage drinking bust in April at its South Norwalk location, the popular bar Johnny Utah's will not reopen. In an announcement on Monday, the state Department of Consumer Protection said it had reached a settlement with the owners for the bar to close permanently following an investigation into a large number of underage drinkers.
