She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

CT Native, 24, Killed In Crash Remembered For 'Huge Heart' Kristie Lyn Drewes, 24, a Connecticut native, died in a multiple-car crash that also claimed the lives of two others in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Friday, May 4. Born in Derby, to Keith A. Drewes of Orange Park, Fla., and Diane Hannan of Seymour, Drewes was known for her "huge heart," and cheering on her favorite football teams. Police: Man Pushes Bicyclist To Ground In Route 9W Diner Road Rage Incident In an apparent case of road rage, a Rockland man was arrested for pushing a bicyclist to the ground on Route 9W. Stony Point Police arrested Javier Martinez, 26, of Haverstraw, for assault following on incident on Sunday in which a bicyclist was injured, according to Stony Point Lt. Daniel Hylas. 20-Year-Old Nabbed For Shoplifting After Fleeing Supermarket In Rockland A 20-year-old woman was nabbed for shoplifting after fleeing a ShopRite in Rockland, according to police. The Stony Point resident was charged with petit larceny on Tuesday, June 12, after police were called to the Stony Point ShopRite for a report of shoplifting, said Stony Point Police Lt. Man Drowns In Westchester Watercraft Accident On Hudson River A 31-year-old man drowned after becoming stranded in the Hudson River after falling off a personal watercraft in Westchester, according to the police. The incident took place around 6:45 p.m. Monday when Yonkers Police responded to the JFK Marina off Warburton Avenue on a report a stranded personal watercraft with a male and female missing, said Det. Police: Mom Under Influence Resists Arrest While Picking Up Child At School A Hudson Valley mom was arrested after attempting to pick up her child from a Fairfield County school while drunk. Wilton Police arrested Jolene Matthews, 41, of Monroe in Orange County, after receiving a call from the Goddard School for a report of an intoxicated parent attempting to pick-up their 4-year-old child, said Lt. Man Nabbed In Town Of Poughkeepsie Burglary Attempt A 30-year-old man was arrested while attempting to break into an occupied home through a window, Town of Poughkeepsie Police said. ID Released For Man Killed In Hudson Valley Officer-Involved Shooting New York State Police have released the name of the 37-year-old man shot dead during an officer-involved shooting over the weekend in Orange County. 28-Year-Old Overdose Victim Saved After Hudson Valley Crash A man overdosing on opioids was saved by first responders after he lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle. The incident took place Sunday afternoon when Cameron J. Woman Rescued After Buildings Collapse In Poughkeepsie Update A woman who had been trapped for several hours was pulled from the rubble by rescuers Monday night after a building collapsed onto two others in Poughkeepsie. Rotanya Hargrove was alert and conscious when she was rescued at about 8 p.m., nearly four hours after a vacant, seven-story building collapsed onto two other buildings during a severe thunderstorm with gusty winds.
