She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Three-Alarm Townhouse Fire Spreads Quickly In Danbury A three-alarm fire spread to four townhouse units in short time early Friday morning in Danbury. Danbury Fire units were alerted by 911 around 6:40 a.m. Friday of a reported fire in a townhouse at 120 Triangle Street, said James Gagliardo, communication coordinator for the department. While responding units reported a column of smoke visible from White Street. Man Caught With Assault Weapons, Drugs, Cash In Poughkeepsie Bust A 49-year-old man was busted with assault weapons, drugs, and cash after police received complaints of drug dealing in the area. Emory S. Nesbitt of Poughkeepsie was taken into custody around 4 p.m. Wednesday following a raid by members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator of the task force. Four Store Clerks Caught Selling Alcohol To Minors In Orange County Four out of 30 businesses visited by the state Liquor Authority and the Middletown Police sold alcohol to an undercover minor during a sting operation. 911 Call Leads To Felony DWI Charge For Red Hook Woman At Convenience Store A 911 call led to the arrest of a 41-year-old woman for felony drunk driving after police found her inside her vehicle in a Quick Chek parking lot. Lisa D. Jackson of Red Hook was arrested after Ulster Police responded to the store on Ulster Avenue and found that she was driving under the influence and with a suspended license, Ulster police said. During the course of the arrest, Jackson refused to submit to a breath test, police said. Two Killed In Fairfield County Rollover Crash Two people were killed in a rollover crash on Route 8 in Fairfield County, according to the Connecticut State Police. Troop G, Bridgeport responded at around 11:10 p.m. Thursday, southbound between Exits 7 and 8 in Trumbull, said Trooper Josue Dorelus Friday morning. According to troopers, the crash occurred when a 2007 Toyota Scion veered off into the right grassy area and struck a large rock wall. Stony Point PD: Man Found In Damaged Car In Middle Of Road Charged With DWI A local man who was driving drunk at three times the legal limit was busted by police after he was found sitting in the middle of the road in a wrecked vehicle, said Stony Point Police. Surujpaul Singh, 51, was arrested Sunday after a Stony Point Police officer responded to a call of a vehicle accident on Van Buren Drive, said Lt. Daniel Hylas. Upon arrival, the officer found a disabled vehicle, occupied by Singh, in the middle of the roadway with extensive damage to the vehicle, Hylas said. Female Teen Overdose Victim Rescued By Red Hook Police A 19-year-old teen was saved from an overdose by the quick actions of two Red Hook police officers who came to her aid within a minute of receiving the call for help. The incident took place on Friday, June 1 around 5 p.m. when the department received a 911 call reporting an unconscious female in the parking lot of Stewarts North in the Village of Red Hook, the department said. These Are Ramapo PD's Newest Drug Recognition Experts The Ramapo Police Department has two new drug experts, officers John Youngman and Marc Lieman. The two are the department's newest Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) after graduating from the International Cheif's of Police training program. Youngman and Lieman attended two weeks of classroom training in Batavia, and one week of hands-on training in Jacksonville. A DRE is used to evaluate individuals who are believed to be impaired by drugs and is able to determine what drug category or categories of drugs a person is using. Wappingers Falls Woman Charged In $3K Welfare Fraud Scheme A Wappingers Falls woman was nabbed for ripping off the welfare system of more than $3,000 in illegally obtained benefits, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Ann Marie Rosario, 48, was arrested Thursday following an investigation by the Sheriff's Department, and the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services, said Capt. John Watterson.
