Driver In Fatal Fiery Westchester Crash Charged With DWI A New Rochelle man has been charged with DWI in the fatal crash that killed his passenger on Saturday. Alan Roth, 63, who was also injured in the crash, was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated, said New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa. The crash occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday on Pinebrook Boulevard, a residential street just east of New Rochelle High School. One Killed In Single-Car Dutchess Crash One person died in a single-vehicle crash on Shunpike Road in the town of Washington, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred around 9 a.m. Tuesday after the unidentified driver of a 2007 Honda Accord traveling westbound on Shunpike Road near Kennels Road lost control of the vehicle, said Capt. Wappingers Falls Three-Alarm Fire Destroys Home Numerous fire departments are on the scene of a three-alarm blaze at a two-and-half story home in Wappingers Falls that has caused extensive damage. According to officials, the fire started around 2:30 p.m. at 60 Huber Road in Chelsea and quickly spread to a three-alarm blaze. Chelsea Fire District, Castle Point, Glenham, City Of Beacon, Hughsonville and Village of Fishkill FAST Team are on the scene. There are no reports of any injuries. This is a developing story. 14-Year-Old Takes Police On Wild Chase Through Bridgeport A 14-year-old teen is in custody following a wild car chase through Bridgeport after police spotted him driving a vehicle stolen in an armed home invasion. ID Released For Man Killed In Fiery Westchester One-Car Crash A New Rochelle man who died in a fiery car crash over the weekend has been identified. Robert Hopkins, 49, a passenger in a car that hit a utility pole and caught fire around 10 p.m. Saturday on Pinebrook Boulevard, died at the scene. Hopkins, who attended Archbishop Stepinac High School and Iona College, worked as a vice president and senior project executive for American Express and IBM. Man Pleads Guilty To Fatal Stabbing Of Hudson Valley House Guest A 44-year-old Orange County man faces 20 years in state prison after pleading guilty to stabbing and killing a man who was staying at his home. Christopher Smith, 44, of the Town of Newburgh, pled guilty Monday to stabbing the man in the neck with a knife and then buried him in a planter in front of his home. Norwalk Man, 32, Drowns While Celebrating Birthday In Stamford In what appears to be an accident, a Norwalk man celebrating his 32nd birthday drowned in a Stamford pool on Sunday, according to Stamford Police. Michelet Mongerard was at a party with about 20 or 30 family members when one of his cousins noticed him at the bottom of the pool around 7 p.m., at 56 Greenfield Road, said Stamford Police Sgt. Kenneth Jarrett. One of Mongerard's cousins dragged him from the pool and was able to resuscitate him with CPR until medics arrived and took over, Jarrett said. Beacon Development Company Buys Former IBM West Site In East Fishkill A Beacon development company, RWHPA LLC, has purchased the former IBM West/Bright solar 125-acre campus in East Fishkill in a deal brokered by McGrath Realty, Inc. The deal, which was two years in the making, was closed this month for an undisclosed amount. The land includes three flex buildings and 70 acres of land, the realty company said. Police: Riverside Man Threatens Victim Who Tried To Keep Him From Driving A 32-year-old man was arrested after threatening a person who was trying to prevent him from driving under the influence, Greenwich Police said. Brian C.Walsh, of Riverside, was charged Monday with breach of peace and threatening after the incident in which he was attempting to get into a vehicle to drive and another person stepped in to stop him, said Greenwich Police Lt.
