Seen Them? Police Search For Suspects In ATM Theft Police are looking for two men who stole an ATM machine from a gas station in the area on Monday. Police responded to the Mobil Mart station at 300 Bridgeport Ave. in Milford for a burglar alarm call around midnight Monday, said Milford Officer Joseph Dempsey. When officers arrived, they found the glass front door smashed and the ATM removed, Dempsey said. Man Attempting To Hang Himself Rescued In Milford, Police Say A Milford police officer saved a man who attempted to hang himself after calling the police, the department said on Twitter. According to the Milford Police Department, the department received a call around 9 a.m. from a resident who said they were considering harming themselves, the Twitter post said. Milford Officer Will Barbour was working a private duty job near the residence and quickly responded. Bridgeport Man Nabbed For Spring Shooting Death Bridgeport police arrested a city man Thursday for the shooting death of another man in May. Detectives from the Bridgeport Police Fugitive Task Force arrested Shardel Ragin, 30, of Asylum Street in Bridgeport for the May 24, shooting death of Willie Nance, 26, of Bridgeport, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Man Under Influence Attempts To Switch Seats, Greenwich Police Say A man who was trying to pull off a switch-a-roo so he wouldn't be caught driving under the influence has been charged, according to Greenwich Police. Scott Hyman, 26, of Bridgeport, was arrested around 4 a.m. Monday after officers watched as he strayed from his lane, nearly hitting the curbs on East Putnam Avenue, the arrest report said. After pulling the vehicle over in a parking lot, the officer watched as Hyman switched seats with the passenger, the report said. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal Pomona Home Fire Police have identified the victim of the fatal Pomona home fire on Quaker Road early Wednesday. According to lohud.com, Don Gaston, 63, the owner of the one-story home, died in the blaze that caused significant damage to the structure. The fire was reported around 3:03 a.m. at 286 Quaker Road, according to Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1. When firefighters arrived on scene flames were spreading outside the back of the house to the roof. Three From Bridgeport Face Drug Charges In Milford Three Bridgeport residents face drug charges after being nabbed by Milford Police in two separate arrests. Richard Smith, 31, was arrested Monday, July 9 on three warrants for drug sales in August 2017 following an investigation by the Milford Police Department's Tactical Unit, as well as the Bridgeport DEA Office, the department said. Two Nabbed In Hudson Valley Home Invasion Two men were nabbed in a home invasion in which they allegedly stole numerous items, said police. The incident took place around 9:44 p.m. Saturday, July 7, when the men forced their way into a residence on East Lane in the Village of Wesley Hills, Ramapo Police Det. Sgt. Brian Corbett said. Man Called 911 From Event In Area Threatening To Kill People, Police Say A man who called 911 from an event in the area has been charged with threatening to "kill people," according to the Ramapo Police Department. The event took place in Airmont around 12:21 p.m. Saturday, July 7, when Ramapo dispatch received a 911 call from an unknown man via cellphone that threatened to "start killing people," said Det. Serious Crash Causes Route 123 Closure In New Canaan This story has been updated. A single-vehicle crash caused the closure of a stretch of Route 123 in New Canaan on Friday afternoon. just after noon on Friday Route 123 (Smith Ridge Road) was closed between Country Club Road and North Wilton Road. The driver of the vehicle was extricated, the New Canaan Fire Department said. The extent of the person's injuries has not yet been released.
