Man Assaults Victim With Hammer In Domestic Dispute, Police Say A 34-year-old man was arrested after assaulting another person with a hammer during a domestic dispute, according to the New York State Police. James M. Macisaac of Pine Plains was arrested Sunday for the attack with took place on Friday, July 13, in Pine Plains, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Troopers were alerted to the attack when nurses at Northern Dutchess Hospital reported a possible victim of domestic violence, Hicks said. Suspects Nabbed In Rash Of Vehicle Break-Ins, State Police Say Two men were nabbed for a rash of vehicle break-ins by Connecticut State Troopers and Southbury Police officers. Malachi Johnson, 20, and Kayson Langhorn, 20, both of Waterbury, were arrested Sunday following an investigation into a burglary and larceny in Southbury and Roxbury, according to the state police. The crimes were uncovered when troopers responded around 6:20 pm. Lifeguard From New Canaan Rescues Three In Canoe Off Shippan Point At the end of a long day on the beach, a 22-year-old lifeguard at a local beach club saved three fishermen who had capsized the canoe off Shippan Point. The event took place around 8 p.m. Saturday about 100 yards offshore of Woodway Beach Club, when lifeguard Morgan Carson of New Canaan saw what he thought was three men struggling in the water just off the point, said Stamford Police Sgt. Wallkill Man Charged With Punching Man, Stealing iPhone A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing an iPhone from a town resident after punching him, along with several other people, according to police.Jah-Quan Williams of Wallkill was arrested Friday, July 13, around 6:30 p.m. by Town of Wallkill Det. Christopher DiNapoli and Officer Robert Reid following an investigation that determined he was one of several people involved in the attack on May 31, police said. Williams was charged with felony robbery and petty larceny and is being held at the Orange County Jail on $3,000 cash/$10,000 bond.

Storm Knocks Out Power To More Than 1K In Rockland As thunderstorm and heavy rains move through the area more than 1,00 customers have lost power in Rockland County. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Orange & Rockland is reporting seven outages with an estimated 1,050 customers affected. A check of the numbers shows they fluctuate as new outages occur or older ones are repaired. Company officials are saying that most should be repaired by 8 p.m. Tuesday. Route 202 Down To One Lane Following Rollover Crash Traffic is being diverted to one lane on Bear Mountain Bridge Road at Route 202 following a three-vehicle crash that involved a rollover. The crash occurred around 2:23 p.m. Tuesday on Route 202, said New York State Trooper A.J. Hicks. According to Hicks, there were several minor injuries resulting from the crash. Man Charged With Assaulting Stony Point Neighbor During Argument, Police Say A 63-year-old man was arrested for assault after allegedly grabbing his neighbor's hand, causing an injury during a confrontation, police said. Timothy Donohue of Knights Corner in Stony Point was arrested around 5:48 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, after Stony Point Police responded to call regarding an assault, said Lt. Daniel Hylas. Former Orange County Contractor Sentenced For Defrauding Customers A 48-year-old Orange County man was sentenced Monday to seven to 14 years in prison for weapons possession, tax evasion and defrauding customers of his home improvement business. Daniel McInerney, of Blooming Grove, was sentenced by Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown after pleading guilty to the crimes that go back as far as 2010, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. ID Released For Man Caught Minutes After Robbing Bank In Stamford, Police Say A man who was nabbed within minutes of robbing a Stamford bank has been identified by police. Charles Redshirt, 35, of Stamford, was arrested by police in just 8 minutes after robbing the First Bank of Greenwich at 900 Summer St., around 12:50 p.m. Monday, said the Stamford Police Department. Woman ID'd As Victim Of Fatal New City Crash The victim of a car crash in New City Saturday night has been identified by the Clarkstown Police Department. Kaylyn Wynne, 21, of Monroe, was killed when she was thrown from a 2012 Jeep Wrangler after the 22-year-old driver hit a dump truck about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, said Lt.
