Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Orange County Motorists are asked to avoid the area of West Main Street in Port Jervis due to a house fire, according to Port Jervis Police. Dispatch said the two-alarm fire that began around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at 33 W. Main St., has been extinguished, but the roadway is congested as officials work to clean-up the area. HazMat Called To Scene Of Northern Westchester Death Investigation Click here for an updated story: Two Police Officers Exposed To 'Unknown' Chemical Agent Police on the scene of a death investigation in Northern Westchester have requested HazMat assistance. According to the Croton-on-Hudson PD's dispatch unit, police were called to a residence on Sunset Drive around 3:22 p.m. Wednesday. Officials did confirm that HazMat has been called, but could not confirm why or if any first responders are in danger or ill from an incident at the scene. This is a developing story. Alert Issued After Vicious Dog Attack In New Canaan New Canaan Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the owner of what they described as a "vicious" off-leash dog that attacked and severely wounded a small dog last week. The attack took place in the back of South School, near Crystal Street, at about 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, when a shepherd-type dog who was unleashed at the time, attacked an on-leash mini-golden doodle, causing serious damage, said Officer Allyson Halm, head of the New Canaan Police Department’s Animal Control Unit. Man Charged In Crash That Left Victim Critically Injured In Stamford A 22-year-old man driving without a motorcycle license has been charged with reckless driving in connection with a Memorial Day crash in which he T-boned a van. Francisco Diaz Gravez of Stamford turned himself in on Wednesday on a warrant for charges of reckless driving, misuse of plates, no insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle, and driving a motorcycle without a motorcycle license, said Stamford PD Sgt. Stony Point Man Allegedly Choked, Punched, Bit Ex-Girlfriend, Police Say A 24-year-old man turned himself into police following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly physically attacked his ex-girlfriend. Stephen Guerrero of Spring Valley was charged with attempted assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt following the attack on Tuesday, July 3, said Stony Point Police Lt. Celebrity Chef's Westchester Market Closes Amid Sexual Harassment Claims A popular gourmet food market in the area has closed its doors. One of a group of hotspots owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali, the Tarry Market on Main Street in Port Chester, which offered European and local artisanal products to Westchester and Connecticut foodies, closed on June 28, following a swirl of sexual harassment allegations against its famous owner. Cyber Tip Leads To Greenwich Man's Arrest For Child Porn A 20-year-old man has been charged with possession of child pornography after police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Raging Fire Destroys Cottage At Russian Orthodox Convent In Nanuet A fire has destroyed a cottage located on the property of the Russian Orthodox convent in Nanuet, according to Clarkstown Police. The blaze broke out around 6:18 a.m. Wednesday at the Novo-Diveevo convent located at 100 Smith Road, Clarkstown police Det. Peter Walker said. Officials were altered to the fire by a woman in the cottage who smelled smoke and called 911. No one was injured, Walker said. Fire departments on scene included the lead Spring Valley, and Nanuet, Hillcrest, and West Haverstraw. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Man Assaults Victim With Hammer In Domestic Dispute, Police Say A 34-year-old man was arrested after assaulting another person with a hammer during a domestic dispute, according to the New York State Police. James M. Macisaac of Pine Plains was arrested Sunday for the attack with took place on Friday, July 13, in Pine Plains, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Troopers were alerted to the attack when nurses at Northern Dutchess Hospital reported a possible victim of domestic violence, Hicks said. Suspects Nabbed In Rash Of Vehicle Break-Ins, State Police Say Two men were nabbed for a rash of vehicle break-ins by Connecticut State Troopers and Southbury Police officers. Malachi Johnson, 20, and Kayson Langhorn, 20, both of Waterbury, were arrested Sunday following an investigation into a burglary and larceny in Southbury and Roxbury, according to the state police.
