Warrant Sweep Nets 17 Arrests In Danbury Nearly 300 wanted criminals were scooped up, including 17 in Danbury, during a statewide warrant operation that included state and local law enforcement officials. The pre-dawn operation, conducted on Wednesday, July 18, targeted individuals wanted on outstanding felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants. The Danbury Police Department served 17 warrants that included the arrest of an individual involved in a very large illegal marijuana operation, said Det. Lt. Mark Williams. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal NJ Turnpike Crash A New York City man was killed in a chain reaction crash Wednesday after the pickup he was riding in was rear-ended by a garbage truck, said the New Jersey State Police. Zhen Dong Wang, 50, of Brooklyn, a passenger in a Dodge Ram, was killed when the vehicle was rear-ended by the garbage truck in the southbound lanes near mile marker 114.8 on the New Jersey Turnpike in Carlstadt, Trooper Alejandro Goez said. Woman Rescued From Burning Car On I-95 Quick action by two witnesses to a car crash saved a Norwalk woman's life after she experienced a medical emergency on I-95. The incident took place around noon Wednesday when both Bridgeport resident Frederico Davis and Connecticut Conservation Police Officer John Hey witnessed a two-car motor vehicle accident in the area of the Black Rock Turnpike overpass, said officials with the Fairfield Fire Department. Two Cops Exposed To 'Unknown' Chemical Agent Responding To Northern Westchester Suicide Two police officers were transported to the hospital after being exposed to an unknown chemical agent used in a suicide. The incident took place around 3:22 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 when the department was called to a residence on Sunset Drive in Croton-on-Hudson for a death investigation. Three Stabbed In Broad Daylight In Yonkers Three people were stabbed during a disagreement on Yonkers Avenue on Wednesday, police said. Two men and a teen were stabbed around 3:45 p.m. at 714 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers Police Sgt. Jared Singer said. Singer said the attack stems from a prior dispute and was not random. Two of the victims have been released from a local area hospital, one with a stab wound to the hand, the other victim received a stab wound to the abdomen, Singer said. Woman Left Dog In Trunk Of Car For Half Hour In Greenwich, Police Say A 56-year-old woman has been charged after police say they discovered that she had locked a dog in her trunk for more than 30 minutes. Linda Scalley of Wilton was arrested Wednesday by Greenwich Police after officers were called to a report of a dog in a vehicle on Grove Street in Cos Cob, said Lt. John Slusarz. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle with all of the windows closed and determined the dog was in the trunk. 40-Year-Old Busted With 100 Bags Of Heroin Stamped 'Marvel' In Stamford A 40-year-old alleged drug dealer was nabbed by Stamford Police after making an appointment to sell heroin to an undercover cop. Kevin Doyle, of Harwinton, was arrested around noon Saturday at the Red Carpet Inn on Main Street after selling more than 100 bags of heroin to a Stamford Police officer with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit, said Capt. Four Men Caught With $4.5K In Stolen Items, Norwalk Police Say Four men were busted by Norwalk police after officers with the Narc Team noticed a vehicle making erratic maneuvers through traffic. The incident took place around 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 when the officers noticed a gold Infiniti in the area of Main Avenue and Broad Street.
