Stamford Man Charged With Wife's Murder Hangs Himself A 75-year-old Stamford man charged with the grisly murder of his wife whose body was found covered in blood with her throat slit killed himself last week, according to Stamford Police. Allen Claxton was found late Friday, July 20 hanging in the attic of his home by Stamford Police, said Capt. Richard Conklin. "We've been worried that something like this might happen," Conklin said. Beloved Pizza Parlor Owner Victim Of Fatal I-684 Three-Vehicle Crash The beloved co-owner of Johnny's Pizzeria in Mount Vernon died in a car crash in Northern Westchester on Saturday, according to New York State Police. Maria Piscopo, 69, of Brewster, died around 1 a.m. during the fatal three-vehicle crash on I-684 in North Castle, said Trooper AJ Hicks. An initial investigation suggests that Joseph Piscopo Jr., 47, who was driving a 2001 GMC Denali, with Maria Piscopo in the passenger seat, was traveling northbound when he and rear-ended a 2001 Dodge Dakota, Hicks said. Three Bitten By Aggressive Fox In Yorktown Three people are receiving rabies shots after being bitten by an aggressive fox in Yorktown that is still at large, according to the Westchester County Department of Health. Due to its aggressive behavior, the fox is believed to be rabid. The health department used robo-calls Monday to notify nearby residents. The first attack occurred at 6 a.m. Saturday, when a jogger was bitten by a fox on Lee Boulevard. Dump Truck Overturns Causing Gridlock On Route 8 Latest update All lanes are open on Route 8 as of 6 p.m. Update The right lane on Route 8 reopened just before 5 p.m., leaving two lanes open. Original report A rollover crash involving a dump truck has backed up traffic on Route 8 for miles with only the left lane open and two lanes blocked, according to Connecticut State Police. Police Search For Suspect In Area Subway Shop Robbery Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed a Subway Shop over the weekend.According to Monroe Police, the man entered the Subway shop on Route 111 at around 6:13 p.m. Sunday and implied that he had a gun. The man, wearing dark glasses and a hat pulled low on his head, then demanded the clerk place all of the money in a sandwich bag and left the shop, police said. Police did not offer additional information. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe police department at 203-261-3622.

Teen In Fatal Crash Was Driving Too Fast, Under Influence, Police Say A teen involved in a crash that killed a Litchfield County resident was allegedly driving too fast and under the influence, according to the Connecticut State Police. Christopher Hoyt, 18, of Sharon, was arrested on Friday following the crash on Housatonic River Road in Salisbury, said Trooper Kelly Grant. The crash occurred around 7:34 p.m. Friday, July 20 when Hoyt lost control of his vehicle while rounding a corner, rode up an embankment, on the right shoulder of the road, and overturned coming to rest in the roadway, Grant said. Driver In Two-Car Crash With Serious Injury Charged With DWI, Vehicular Assault The 51-year-old driver in a two-car crash that left one person trapped and seriously injured has been charged with driving under the influence. Christopher Smith of Campbell Hall was arrested on Saturday following the crash at the intersection of Little Britain Road and Forrester Road, said New Windsor Police Lt. Michael Farbent. Man Assaults, Holds Woman Against Her Will In Car, Police Say A 52-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting a woman and keeping her inside a vehicle against her will, according to the Milford Police. Buddy Perry of Milford was arrested around 9 p.m. Monday after officers responded to the area of Grove Circle for a report of a domestic violence in progress, said Officer Joseph Dempsey. Gun Found In Stamford Raid A 20-year-old Stamford man was nabbed with a semi-automatic weapon after the Stamford Police Department received a tip that he was hiding the gun.
