She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Fairfield County Woman, 21, Fifth Suspect Nabbed In Violent Home Invasion A fifth person has been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion that took place last year. Alisha Drescher, 21, of Bridgeport, was arrested Thursday by Milford Police for taking part in the crime in May 2017, in which two black men wearing masks used a handgun to hold a male and female at bay as they stole items from the home, said the Milford Police. Drescher, who was a guest at the home, is accused of coordinating with the others to arrange the home invasion and robbery, police said. The unidentified 12-year-old was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation into the theft that took place on July 10 from a Clover Road home in Yorktown, according to the Yorktown Police. ID Released After Body Pulled From Hudson River Police have released the identity of a body found floating in the Hudson River on Tuesday. The Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office said late Thursday afternoon that man pulled from the river is Paul Moschitta, 49, of the City of Poughkeepsie, who had been missing since July 24 when he jumped into the river to help a struggling swimmer. Kitchen Destroyed In Darien House Fire This story has been updated. A house fire in Darien on Thursday caused heavy damage to the kitchen area of the home. The fire, which began around 3:20 p.m. at 9 Beach Drive, was contained to the kitchen by the quick work of all three of the city's fire department's, said Noroton Assistant Fire Chief Brendan Keane. According to Keane, the majority of the damage remained in the kitchen, with the rest of the home receiving some smoke damage. "Great teamwork by all," Keane said.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Man Wounded In Random Fairfield County Shooting One person was shot in the leg during a random shooting in Fairfield County. Police received multiple calls regarding shots fired in the area of 569 Arctic St. in Bridgeport around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport PD. When police arrived on scene they found that one man had been transported privately to Bridgeport Hospital with a non-life threatening leg wound, he said. The victim told police he was walking up Pembroke Road with his headphones on when he was shot, Harris added. The shooting is under investigation.
