Westchester Man Driving With Flat Tires Was Under Influence, Police Say A Westchester man operating a motor vehicle with flat tires was driving under the influence, Greenwich Police said. Bryan Morabito, 44, of White Plains, was arrested around 6:58 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, after officers were dispatched to the area of Lake Avenue for the report of an erratic driver, driving on flat tires, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. After stopping the vehicle, officers could smell alcohol on Morabito's beath and he was slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes, Slusarz said. Man Attempts To Strangle Woman She Had Protective Order Against, Police Say A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly strangling a woman who had a protective order against him and for attacking another man. Benjamin Sumner of Milford was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Friday by Milford Police after trying to strangle the woman by grasping her around the neck with his hands, and then hitting a man inside the home with his fist, said the Milford Police. Two Women Nabbed In Norwalk Vehicle Burglary Spree Two women have been busted in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries that took place in June. Norwalk Detectives investigated four motor vehicle burglaries that occurred in the parking garage at 770 Connecticut Ave., during June, said Norwalk Police Lt.Terry Blake. 30-Year Department Veteran Promoted To Trumbull Police Captain After 30 years with the Trumbull Police Department, Lt. Keith Golding has been promoted to the rank of Captain. Golding was promoted on Wednesday, Aug. 1, during a special ceremony. The newly minted captain most recently served as the Detective Division Commander. He will now be assigned as the Patrol Division Commander, where he will be responsible for all uniformed service personnel. During his tenure with the department, Golding has also worked as a supervisor in the Records Division, and as a shift commander in Patrol. Know Him? Police Seek To ID Suspect In Fairfield County Burglary Police are searching for a man considered a person of interest in connection with a residential burglary. The incident took place around 7:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, on Marcroft Street in Stratford, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti. A window air conditioner was removed to gain entry into the house. Investigators are looking to identify the man pictured who was seen walking up and down the street prior to the discovery of the burglary, Eannotti said. Man Extradited To Greenwich One Sexual Assault Charge A 37-year-old man has been arrested for a June sexual assault following an investigation by Greenwich Police. Gionni Scaltro of Staten Island was arrested on July 26 by NYPD officers following a lengthy investigation by the Greenwich Police Department's Special Victims Unit, said Lt. John Slusarz. Man Beaten, Bound In Targeted Greenwich Home Invasion, Police Say Police nabbed a 46-year-old man in connection with a home invasion and robbery in which police believe the victim was targeted. Greenwich Police received a call from a resident on Brook Avenue around 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug., 4, for a report of a home invasion and robbery, said Greenwich Lt. John Slusarz. Suspect At Large After 16-Year-Old Shot While Playing Basketball Police are searching for a vehicle involved in the shooting of a 16-year-old teen who was shot once while playing basketball. The incident took around 7 p.m. Tuesday on Woodend Road in Stratford when the teen was hit by a bullet in what appears to be a drive-by shooting, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. Angry Bird: 'Agitated' Hawk Captured After Attacks Injure Two In Fairfield County An angry hawk who was attacking people in Fairfield County has been captured. The "agitated" hawk was caught around 6:30 p.m. near the 2200 block of East Main Street in Bridgeport by a DEEP Conservation officer and taken to safety, said City Spokeswoman Rowena White. Man At Large After Robbing 62-Year-Old Woman In Poughkeepsie, Police Say The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department is searching for a man they say attacked a 62-year-old woman with mace before forcibly taking her purse.
