Poughkeepsie Woman Nabbed For DWI With Child In Vehicle An area woman was busted for allegedly driving drunk with a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle. Juliet Powers, 44, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop on Haight Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie by a member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Traffic Enforcement Unit, said Capt. Ken Roman. Powers was charged under Leandra's Law with felony aggravated DWI with a passenger less than 16 years old in the vehicle, operating a vehicle with .08 of 1% or more of alcohol in blood and DWI. Good Samaritan Nabs Suspect During Town Of Poughkeepsie Strong-Arm Robbery Of Woman A man was grabbed by a Good Samaritan and held for police after he was seen attacking a woman during a strong-arm robbery. The incident took place around 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in the area of Innis Avenue and Delaval Place, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Ken Roman. ID Released For Man Who Jumped From Midspan Of Bear Mountain Bridge Police have released the identity of a 35-year-old Westchester man who jumped to his death from the midspan of the Bear Mountain Bridge earlier this month. The body of Jose J. Sosa Fragoso of Yonkers was pulled from the Hudson River on Sunday, Aug. 5, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Three Nabbed In Revenge-Type Shooting Linked To Fairfield County Basketball Game Three Fairfield County men were arrested for a "revenge-type" shooting and damaging a vehicle following a two-week investigation after a teen shot while playing basketball. Child Struck By Car In Fairfield County Police are investigating after a small child was hit by a vehicle on Tuesday night in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday at Park Avenue and Maplewood Avenue in Bridgeport, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. The child was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment but Harris did not provide information regarding the severity of their injuries or their condition. This is a developing story. Fairfield County Man Nabbed For Home Burglary, Car Theft, Police Say A Fairfield County man was nabbed on a warrant for a burglary and car theft that took place earlier this month. Marcus Vereen of Stratford was arrested Tuesday after investigators found him on Burritt Avenue, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. Suspicious White Powder At ATM Closes Rockland County Bank A Rockland bank is closed while the Sheriff's Office hazmat team investigates a suspicious white powder found at an ATM machine, Stony Point Police said. The powder was found around 1:33 p.m. Tuesday on the counter of the ATM machine outside the Chase Bank located at 22 S. Liberty Drive, the police department said. Agents with the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Hazmat Team are testing the powder, police said. Fugitive Wanted For Murder Apprehended At Fairfield County Motel A 23-year-old man wanted for murder was taken into custody at a Fairfield County motel by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.
