She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. West Nile Case Confirmed In Westchester Westchester County has learned of its first human case of West Nile Virus this year, which was confirmed in a 72-year-old Irvington resident who had been hospitalized and is now recovering at home. Person Hit By Tree Branch In Ossining This story has been updated. A person was hit by a tree branch late Thursday morning, Ossining Police said. Police received the call at 11:42 a.m. at 214 N. Highland Ave. in Ossining, police said. One lane of Highland Avenue was closed to traffic as firefighters and EMS worked to help the person. Ossining Police Chief Kevin Sylvester declined to provide additional information.

Orange County Home Damaged In Three-Alarm Fire A three-alarm fire damaged an Orange County home but was quickly extinguished with help from other volunteer agencies. The Goshen Fire Department received the call around 8:54 p.m. Wednesday at 12 West St., in the village for smoke alarms going off in the residence, the Goshen Fire Department said. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke showing from the second floor. The fire was found and extinguished within the hour. Burnt Food At Popular Northern Westchester Deli/Market Brings Fire Department Just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday a whole contingent of dedicated firefighters responded to a popular Westchester County deli and market for a fire call but found instead burnt food. Man Throws Knife At Daughter, Boyfriend He Doesn't Approve Of In Stamford, Police Say A 53-year-old man was arrested after allegedly throwing a knife at his daughter and her boyfriend that he doesn't approve of in Fairfield County. Richard Morabito of Stamford was arrested Monday after throwing a knife at his daughter and her boyfriend's feet, said Stamford Police Sgt. Robert Shawinsky. Stamford Woman Arrested For Making False Death Threat Claim A Fairfield County woman was charged with filing a false police statement claiming that her estranged husband threatened to kill her following a court proceeding. Maryann Conrad, 50, of Stamford, was charged Aug. 18 with falsely reporting an incident and giving a false statement, according to the Connecticut State Police. Norwalk Man Charged With Failure To Appear In Greenwich A Norwalk man wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court in a case that involved unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct was nabbed by Greenwich police while making a court appearance. Anthony Villegas, 26, was arrested Monday at the Connecticut Superior Court House by judicial marshals and then turned over to Greenwich Police, said Greenwich Lt. John Slusarz. Suspect In Brutal Home Invasion Extradited To Greenwich A man wanted for a brutal home invasion in which the victim was beaten and bound has been extradited back to Fairfield County. Hassan R. Woman Run Over By Husband's Car In Stamford A woman landed in the hospital after her husband left the car in neutral and it began to roll downhill and she was run over by the vehicle in Fairfield County.
