Teenage Boy Drowns in Area Lake Click here for an updated story: ID Released For 14-Year-Old Area Drowning Victim A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Lake Tonetta in Southeast, according to multiple sources. The incident took place around 9 p.m. Sunday when several teens were swimming off a floating dock at a neighborhood beach on Shore Drive, officials said. Divers from Mahopac Falls found the teen about 45 minutes after receiving the call that he had not resurfaced. 16 Windows Smashed, Car Stolen At Two Locations In Stamford A total of 16 vehicles had their windows smashed and one car was stolen at two different locations early Tuesday, said Stamford Police Sgt. Sean Scanlon. Eight vehicles had their windows smashed and valuables were stolen at the parking garage on Summer Street, and another eight windows were smashed at the garage on Main Street, Scanlon said. Nothing was taken from the vehicles on Main Street. In addition, a car was stolen overnight on Nevin Avenue, although the keys were left in the vehicle, he said. ID Released For 23-Year-Old Killed In Area Crash A 23-year-old man who was killed during a crash in the Hudson Valley that also injured four other people has been identified. The crash took place around 11:40 p.m. Saturday on on Route 17 east of exit 112 in the Mamakating, said the New York State Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Honda Civic, operated by Sayra Lemus, 22, of Fallsburg was traveling east on Route 17. Witnesses said that an unidentified vehicle entered into the lane of travel of the Honda Civic. Man Shot In Face In Bridgeport A man was shot once in the face on Monday night in Bridgeport, according to police spokesman Av Harris. The shooting took place in the area of Colorado Avenue and Howard Avenue around 6 p.m., Harris said. The victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center by medics and was listed in stable condition as of 10 p.m. Monday, Harris added. No other information was immediately available, Harris said.

Bags Of Chips On Roadway Lead To DUI Charge For Fairfield Man A trail of potato chip bags along a Fairfield County roadway led to a DUI arrest.Scott Smith, 49, of Fairfield, was arrested around 12:15 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20, after a Westport Police officer noticed a vehicle pulled to the side of the road in the area of Green Farms Road, Westport Poice said. Multiple bags of chips were found scattered in the roadway just east of the vehicle’s location. Man Taken Into Custody After Trespassing At Elite CT Prep School, Police Say State police arrested a man for trespassing on the property of the elite prep school early in the morning. The incident unfolded around 1 a.m. Friday when school security staff from the Hotchkiss School in Western Connecticut near the New York border contacted state police and reported a trespasser, said Connecticut State Troopers. Man With Active Warrant Caught With Crack, Cash In Flax Hill Road Stop A man with an active warrant was caught with crack and cash during a traffic stop in Fairfield County, police said. Malcolm Williams of Norwalk was arrested Thursday following a stop by Norwalk Police on Flax Hill Road, said the Norwalk Police Department. When officers approached the vehicle they could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, they added. Police Ask Public's Help In Finding Fairfield County Bank Robbery Suspect Have you seen him?Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a bank inside a local supermarket. The robbery took place just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the People's Bank inside the Stop & Shop on Route 111 in Monroe, Monroe Police said. Suspect In Armed Robbery At Stamford Minimart At Large Stamford Police are asking the public for help in identifying the man who robbed a minimart store. The robbery took place around 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Mi Tierra minimart at 57 Smith St., police said. A video surveillance from the time of the robbery clearly shows the man’s face, wearing a bright orange hoodie closed tight around his face. The robber, who was said to have pulled a gun from his sweatshirt and demand cash, escaped in a white four-door car with an undisclosed amount of cash.
