She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Man, 39, Electrocuted While Removing Tree Leaves Behind Wife, Two Children A 39-year-old man who was electrocuted while removing a tree after hitting a live power line earlier this week leaves behind a wife and two children. John B. Nuzzolo, of Newburgh, died Monday around 9:17 a.m.while removing the tree at 29 Maple Road, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. He was an employee of the MTA, and the Long Island Railroad, and was a former member of Local 38. Nuzzolo is survived by his wife Syndi and his two children Aryanna and John. He was predeceased by his parents John and Bernice. Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, on Friday, Sept, 7, from 2 p.m. …

Crews Battling Elements In Search For Injured Hiker At High Tor State Park Crews are working to rescue an injured hiker on a mountain at High Tor State Park in Rockland. The New City Fire Department, along with help from Rockland County Technical Rescue Team have been battling the weather conditions since around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, New City Fire Department officials confirmed. Officials requested a helicopter for help, but thunderstorms prevented the chopper from assisting. The placement, or condition of the hiker is not known. This is a developing story. Man Taken Into Custody In Connection To CT White Powder Scares, DOJ Says A New Haven man was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection with numerous incidents of white powder being mailed to several federal and state offices and community organizations. Four Suspects Nabbed In Poughkeepsie Shooting Four men are behind bars following the shooting of a man in the area, police said. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when the City of Poughkeepsie Police began receiving numerous 911 calls reporting shots fired and a man down in the area of 82 Academy St., said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Responding officers found a 36-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident shot multiple times. White Powder Incident Prompts Evacuation Of State Office Building Police are investigating at least four incidents involving white powder or suspicious packages Wednesday that led to evacuations and street closures. Two are believed to be baby powder, officials said. The first package was discovered around 11 a.m. Wednesday at the state's Dept. of Education office, at 450 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford, state police said. ID Released For Victim In Fatal Westchester Shooting A 36-year-old man has been identified as the person shot and killed last week in Westchester, according to police. David DeGrace, of Mount Vernon, was named as the victim of the Tuesday, Aug. 28 shooting at 240 7th Ave., in Mount Vernon, said spokeswoman Maria Donovan. Donovan did not offer any details surrounding the murder but did say the investigation continues and no arrests have been made. Person Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley A person was struck and killed by a train in the area, according to CSX officials. The person, who was on the tracks, was hit around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday by the train, which was headed north near the intersection of New Main Street and Conger Avenue in Haverstraw, said Christopher Smith, spokesman for CSX.
