Teacher's Aide Indicted For Bringing Gun To School In Hudson Valley A 24-year-old teacher's aide who was arrested for bringing a gun in her purse to an area school has been indicted by a grand jury for felony possession of a weapon on school grounds. Gillian J. Jeffords of Warwick who was also indicted on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, was employed as a teacher's aide at the Rockland BOCES Jesse Kapan School in West Nyack, came to work on March 29, with a fully loaded gun in her purse, according to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office. Suspect At Large In Stabbing Death Of 16-Year-Old, State Police Say Police are on the hunt for a "person of interest" involved in the overnight murder of a 16-year-old boy. Enfield detectives, along with the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit, are investigating the stabbing death of Justin Brady, police said. A student at Enfield High School, the teen was stabbed at an Enfield home at 15 Hoover Lane. Police have released little information except to say they are investigating the event. Girl, 15, Attacked In Bathroom Of Area Public Library A 15-year-old has been arrested for hiding in a library bathroom and attempting to attack a young woman after locking her in a stall. Hamden Police said they arrested the teen around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, after receiving a call for a "welfare check," at the Miller Memorial Library, at 2901 Dixwell Ave., said Hamden Capt. Missing CT Family Of Four Found A missing family of four who had not been heard from or seen in a month has been found. The family, which includes parents 42-year-old Andres Bravo and Jennifer Cubillos, 32, and children Samantha Bravo, 11, Christopher Bravo, 14, had not been heard from or seen since late June or early July, the Naugatuck Police Department said last week. Man Accused Of Engaging In Physical Altercations With Two Different Women Police arrested an area man on two warrants for allegedly getting into physical fights with two different women. Sean Cunningham, 25, of Milford was arrested Monday on charges of disorderly conduct, assault, criminal mischief and breach of peace for engaging in two physical altercations with two women inside an Old Point Road home. Two Men Nabbed In Fairfield County 'Granny Scam' Two men were nabbed in Fairfield County for a "granny scam," after a resident became suspicious and contacted police. Man Who Allegedly Stole From Area Business Caught After Fleeing Scene, Police Say An area man was busted for stealing an iPad after he was caught in the act by employees, according to police. Charles Curciodate, 35, of Milford, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after Milford Police received word that an employee was chasing a burglar who had entered a local business at 860 Old Gate Lane, police said. Curcio is accused of entering the business by kicking in a garage door panel and then taking the iPad. Police Officer Hailed As Hero For Saving Life Of Man Visiting Stamford An Ecuadorian man visiting the Fairfield County area is alive and well following a medical emergency thanks to the actions of a Stamford police officer. Pablo Campoverde, 24, of Cuenca, Ecuador, arrived in Stamford on Aug. 20, to visit with an uncle on Horton Street. Danbury Man Hit By Car Crossing Street A 31-year-old Fairfield County man was injured after being struck by a car while crossing a street. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of 82 North St., said Det. Lt. Mark Williams with the Danbury Police. A preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian, 31-year-old Nielson Rivas-Garcia of Danbury was walking across the street when he was struck by a car driven by Ronald Fields, 56, of Danbury, Williams said.
