Resorts World Catskills New Hotel Complex Opens This Month Resorts World Catskills unveiled plans to open its second hospitality complex and hotel this month in Orange County. Called The Alder, the hotel is accepting reservations and will officially throw open the doors in December, according to a press release from the resort. Father, Son Duo Nabbed For Using Stolen Debit Card A father and son duo were nabbed for allegedly using a stolen debit card taken from a man's vehicle. Lawrence Wilson Sr., 42 and Lawrence Wilson Jr., 23, both of Monticello, were arrested on Friday, Nov. 30, and charged with forgery, two counts of criminal possession of stolen property, and petit larceny, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police Department. The men were arrested following an investigation into the use of a stolen debit card belonging to another Monticello man. Woman Killed In Crash Involving Car, SUV In Northern Westchester A 24-year-old Northern Westchester woman killed in a car crash on Sunday has been identified. Ruth Alexandra Cajamarca-Paccha of Ossining was killed around 7:42 a.m. Sunday during a head-on crash on Route 9 just south of Sleepy Hollow Road in Briarcliff Manor, said Mount Pleasant Police Capt. Michael Pierce. Cajamarca-Paccha was a passenger in a 2013 Chevrolet Spark that collided with a 2016 Ford Explorer. Request For Extra Mayo At Area Deli Leads To Assault Charges A man who wanted extra mayonnaise on his sandwich ended up in cuffs after smacking a store worker who refused his request. The incident took place around 5;30 p.m. Sunday at the Food Fare, 1063 Broadway in Milford, said Milford Police Officer Joseph Dempsey. According to Dempsey, police responded to the deli/market on the report of a breach of peace incident. An investigation led to the arrest of Patrick Kelly, 34, of New York, who allegedly smacked a store worker in the face after being denied an extra side of mayonnaise. Four Bodies Recovered After Fire Destroys Building In Area A total of four bodies have now been uncovered following a fire in an abandoned building that was destroyed by fire in the area early Monday. Two of the bodies were found by firefighters right after the fire was extinguished. Two additional bodies were found hours later while overhauling the fire, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. The fire, at 61 Academy St., was reported around 1:38 a.m. Monday, said Johnson. Electrical Fire Shuts Down Stretch Of Lime Kiln Road An electrical fire on a utility pole has shut down a portion of Lime Kiln Road.The Ramapo Police Department said they are on the scene of the fire along with the Hillcrest Fire Department at Lime Kiln Road near Route 306. O&R Utilities is enroute. Motorists are asked to avoid the area. Power is reportedly out to several homes in the area. It is not known how long it will take to restore it.

Funeral Expenses Fund Launched For Son Of Westport Teacher Killed In I-95 Crash Friends of the family of a 20-year-old Westport man killed in an early morning crash on I-95 have started a GoFundMe effort to help the family cover the cost of funeral expenses. Dutchess Man Arrested For Cutting The Throat Of Clerk During Armed Robbery, Police Say A Hyde Park man is behind bars after allegedly cutting the throat of a gas station clerk and then stabbing him numerous times during an armed robbery of the business. The incident took around 1:42 a.m., Saturday, at the Mobile gas station at 3480 North Road, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin Faber. Measles Outbreak Spreads To Public School In Rockland The first case of measles at a public elementary school was reported Friday in Rockland County. The new case, at Hempstead Elementary School, is the first case at a public school since the outbreak began in Rockland County in late September. The East Ramapo School District and the school were notified on Friday by the Rockland County Department of Health, said John G. Lyon, spokesman for Rockland County.
