Apartment Fire Breaks Out, Closing Roadway In Nyack Nyack firefighters are on the scene of an apartment fire that has closed part of a roadway. The fire, at Tallman Towers, 36 S. Broadway, Nyack, started around 10:34 a.m. Thursday and has temporarily closed part of the roadway until fire operations are complete, South Nyack Police said. Route 304 Closed Due To Overturned Truck Motorists can expect major delays in the area as a stretch of Route 304 will be closed for several hours due to an overturned truck that has spilled debris across the roadway. Clarkstown Police said the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. just south of West Nyack Road in Nanuet covering the roadway with debris that will have to be cleared, as well as having the truck towed. Three From Rockland Nabbed For DWI In Stops By Sheriff's Officers Three people were arrested for DWI by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office during routine traffic stops. Those arrested included: Omar Bello, 24, of Suffern, was arrested around 4:25 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, after being stopped on Route 59 in Spring Valley. During the stop, deputies found that Bello was allegedly under the influence and was driving with a license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, DWI and aggravated DWI with a BAC greater than .18 percent. He was released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 18. Man Wanted On Charges Of Assault, Strangulation Surrenders To Greenwich Police A 43-year-old man wanted on assault and strangulation charges turned himself in to police. Darnell L. Davis, of Miami Beach, turned himself into Greenwich Police on Tuesday after being advised of an active warrant for his arrest for an event that took place in Greenwich on August 15 on Orchard Hill Lane, Greenwich Police said. Following his surrender, Davis was charged with assault, strangulation/suffocation, and unlawful restraint.  He chose not to post the $10,000 bond, police said.
