She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Apartment Fire Breaks Out, Closing Roadway In Nyack Nyack firefighters are on the scene of an apartment fire that has closed part of a roadway. The fire, at Tallman Towers, 36 S. Broadway, Nyack, started around 10:34 a.m. Thursday and has temporarily closed part of the roadway until fire operations are complete, South Nyack Police said. The fire is said to be located in the kitchen of an apartment in the complex. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Route 304 Closed Due To Overturned Truck Motorists can expect major delays in the area as a stretch of Route 304 will be closed for several hours due to an overturned truck that has spilled debris across the roadway. Clarkstown Police said the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. just south of West Nyack Road in Nanuet covering the roadway with debris that will have to be cleared, as well as having the truck towed. All northbound traffic is being diverted from Route 304 to Route 59. Motorists are asked to avoid the area. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Three From Rockland Nabbed For DWI In Stops By Sheriff's Officers Three people were arrested for DWI by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office during routine traffic stops. Those arrested included: Omar Bello, 24, of Suffern, was arrested around 4:25 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, after being stopped on Route 59 in Spring Valley. During the stop, deputies found that Bello was allegedly under the influence and was driving with a license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, DWI and aggravated DWI with a BAC greater than .18 percent. He was released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 18. Popular Route 9 College Bar Loses Liquor License An investigation into complaints of underage drinking taking place at a Hyde Park bar led to the suspension of the establishment's liquor license by the State Liquor Authority. The Authority suspended the license for Darby O’Gills at 3969 Albany Post Road (Route 9) on Wednesday, Dec. 5 after an undercover compliance inspections operation found a high number of underage drinkers. Accused Drug Dealer Becomes Combative With Officers During Arrest, Police Say Two people were arrested following a traffic stop during an anti-crime patrol after becoming combative with officers.Carmichael Wright, 27, of the Bronx, and Tarita Banks, 55, of Milford, were arrested on Tuesday following the stop in the area of Naugatuck Avenue and Baldwin Street, the Milford Police said. Massive House Fire Breaks Out In Suffern Multiple fire departments are on the scene of a massive house fire in Suffern that has closed a roadway to area traffic. The fire, at 80 Washington Ave., began around 1:32 p.m. Wednesday, causing Washington Avenue to be closed to traffic, said the Suffern Police Department. Norwalk Man Wanted For Operating Drug Factory Nabbed On Warrant In Stamford An investigation into narcotics sales led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man following a search of his home. Ryan Jackson, of Norwalk, was arrested Tuesday at a location in Stamford by members of the Norwalk Police Department's Special Services Department along with the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Norwalk Police. Boom Truck Tips Over, Nearly Crushing Home In Northern Westchester A boom truck working on removing trees behind a North Salem home tipped over, hitting the structure. The incident took place around 10 a.m. Wednesday when the truck tipped over and landed on the corner of the Lakeside Drive house that was recently purchased by new owners, North Salem Police Lt. Andrew Brown said. "They were lucky the home wasn't crushed," Brown said. The truck from Osorio Tree Service apparently tipped while doing tree work and landed on the edge of the house. Man Wanted On Charges Of Assault, Strangulation Surrenders To Greenwich Police A 43-year-old man wanted on assault and strangulation charges turned himself in to police. Darnell L. Davis, of Miami Beach, turned himself into Greenwich Police on Tuesday after being advised of an active warrant for his arrest for an event that took place in Greenwich on August 15 on Orchard Hill Lane, Greenwich Police said. Following his surrender, Davis was charged with assault, strangulation/suffocation, and unlawful restraint. He chose not to post the $10,000 bond, police said.
