She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Complaints From Residents Lead To 13 Arrests For 'Open-Air' Drug Dealing After receiving numerous complaints from City of Newburgh residents regarding "open-air " drug dealing, more than 10 people were arrested during a special operation by local law enforcement. In response to the complaints, members of the City of Newburgh Police Department and Orange County District Attorney’s Office Task Force conducted a narcotics operation on Thursday to address the growing problem, officials said. Two Of Four Victims In Massive Poughkeepsie Fire Identified The identity of two of the four people killed in a massive City of Poughkeepsie fire have been released. The four people were killed Monday during a fire at an abandoned home at 61 Academy St., that started in the first-floor bathroom in the northeast section, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. The bodies were discovered after the fire as firefighters worked to clear and overhaul the building. Man Nabbed For Domestic Dispute, Injuring Police Officer In Town Of Poughkeepsie A 30-year-old man who allegedly attacked and injured a police officer during a chase following a domestic dispute has been arrested for assault. Michael T. Henry was arrested Monday, Dec. 3, after Town of Poughkeepsie Police officers responded to a domestic incident around 9:12 p.m. on Main Street, said Capt. Kevin Faber. New Measles Update: Number Of Confirmed Cases Increases Again New measles cases have continued to grow with the number reaching 90 confirmed cases on Friday, and another seven suspected cases, according to the Rockland County Department of Health. The outbreak began with visitors to and from Israel in September. Since then the number continues to grow as unvaccinated or under-vaccinated children and adults are exposed, the department said. Woman Accused Of Leaving Newborn In Hotel Toilet Enters Plea A woman who allegedly left her baby for dead in a motel room toilet pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges. Teen Brothers Arrested For Robbery, Rape In Poughkeepsie Two City of Poughkeepsie brothers have been arrested for allegedly taking part in a series of robberies in the city's north area and for the rape of a young teen. Car Crashes Into Front Of House In Westchester A car slammed into the front of a Westchester duplex overnight, damaging a brick wall and causing the evacuation of residents. The incident took place around 2:49 a.m. Friday when the car slammed into a house at 73 Shonnard Place, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. The driver, who apparently lost control of the vehicle, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. No one inside the home was injured, he said. The duplex had to be evacuated until the city building inspector assessed the damage, he added. The car was removed by 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Poughkeepsie Man Charged With Murder Of 20-Year-Old A 37-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a Poughkeepsie man last month. Terry Cherry, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was arrested and charged Friday for the Nov. 6, shooting of Jacquain Johnson, a 20-year-old man formerly from the Bronx, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Train Service Suspended In Pearl River After Train Hits Car A car was hit by a train in Pearl River, causing a suspension of service in the area. The incident took place around 10 a.m. Friday when Pascack Valley train #1605, departing Hoboken at 8:57 a.m. for Spring Valley, struck a car at the Central Avenue grade crossing in Pearl River, said Metro-North officials There were no reported injuries to the approximately 12 customers or crew on board the train or to the adult female driver of the car, the MTA said.
