She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Rockland Measles Cases Keep On Climbing The number of measles cases in Rockland County has increased again with 94 confirmed cases and four suspected cases.In addition, the number of people being vaccinated has skyrocketed with a reported 11,100 MMR vaccines being given since the beginning of the epidemic in late September, the Department of Health reported. Forty-seven of those vaccines were administered during a clinic Tuesday at the Palisades Center after an infected person had visited the area. Man High On PCP Attacks Stamford Police Officers A man allegedly high on PCP fought officers in an attempt to avoid arrest after showing up at the home of a former girlfriend to walk his children to school. Jackson Harris, age unknown, was arrested on Tuesday around 10:36 a.m. after Stamford Police Officers Mark Zaramba and Heriberto Perez were working an extra-duty assignment in the area of Depinedo Avenue when they observed an altercation between a man and woman, said Lt. Two Charged In Death Of 15-Year-Old Who Fell From Side Of SUV Two area teens were arrested following the death of a 15-year-old who was hanging onto the outside of the vehicle they were driving before he fell to his death. The 16- and 17-year-olds from Dutchess County have been charged with manslaughter in the death of Wilson Santiago of Wappinger around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks. Man Admits To Aggravated Vehicular Homicide In Deaths Of Two Women A 32-year-old man who was allegedly driving under the influence when he crashed his vehicle, killing two women, has pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide. Christopher Perrella, 32, of Vernon, New Jersey, pleaded guilty Tuesday, Dec. 11, before Orange County Court Judge Robert H. Day Vetoes Amended $709M 2019 Budget Rockland County Executive Ed Day used his line-item veto power to strike down 95 amendments totaling several million dollars to the 2019 budget. Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle In Hopewell Junction This story has been updated. Two roadways were closed while rescue crews work to save a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. New York State Police said the incident took place around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Cavelo and Clove Branch roads in Hopewell Junction. Services Set For Bethel Woman Found Murdered In Bridgeport As police continue to intensify their search for the killer of a popular Bethel woman, the family has announced funeral service arrangements.Services for 25-year-old Emily Todd of Bethel, who was found fatally shot on Seaview Avenue/ Newfield Avenue adjacent to the boat launch ramp on Sunday, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bethel Funeral Home and a celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel United Methodist Church, 141 Greenwood Ave., Bethel. Stabbing Under Investigation In Bridgeport Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in broad daylight on a city street.The incident took place around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 on Park Avenue, in Bridgeport, according to Bridgeport Police. When police arrived on the scene they found one victim who was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Man Charged In Stabbing During Overnight Westchester Street Fight A 23-year-old area man was arrested following the stabbing of another man during a street fight. Gordon Curtis Gaston, of Mount Vernon and arrested early Wednesday, shortly after police found the injured man lying in the street around 3:10 a.m., said David Chong, commissioner of the White Plains Department of Public Safety. The injured man was found after White Plains officers responded to a report of a fight involving two men at the corner of Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue, Chong said. Fire Breaks Out In Massive Norwalk Home Firefighters battled an early morning fire at a large, 6,500-square-foot home in Norwalk. The fire broke out around 6:22 a.m. Wednesday at 4 Hilltop Road, in Norwalk, said the Norwalk Fire Department. Arriving crews were met heavy fire showing from the gable end and the roof, the department said. The fire, that was in the attic, caused the roof to collapse. In addition, there was smoke and water damage to the first and second floor, however, fire crews were able to protect the paintings and other valuables some being priceless.
