She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Person Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train Near Darien A 50-year-old man was struck and killed by a Metro-North train Thursday night near Darien. According to Metro-North officials, the incident took place around 7:35 p.m. Dec. 13 at Noroton Heights. The train had departed Grand Central at 6:49 p.m. headed for New Haven. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification is pending notification of next of kin. MTA Police are investigating. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Bridgeport Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Stable Condition A pedestrian is in stable condition with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Friday in Bridgeport. The incident took place around 6:27 a.m. Friday, on John Street; just east of its intersection with Park Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which entered John Street from the rear parking lot of the Connecticut Post Newspaper. Sandy Hook Elementary Receives Bomb Threat On 6th Anniversary Of Massacre Sandy Hook Elementary School students were sent home Friday morning after the school received a bomb threat on the sixth anniversary of a mass shooting that left 20 first-graders and six educators dead. School personnel reported the threat to Newtown Police around 9 a.m. Friday, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde. Suspect In Murder Of Bethel Woman Apprehended In Ohio \Police have arrested a man in Ohio in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old Bethel woman. Emily Todd was found on Saturday, Dec. 8, shot and killed on Seaview Avenue next to the Newfield Avenue boat ramp in Bridgeport. Eye Doctor In New City Convicted Of Sex Assault Of Young Girl A Rockland County doctor has been found guilty of the sexual abuse of a young girl under the age of 14. Dr. Hiten Lakhani, 50, of New City, was found guilty Tuesday following a jury trial, said the Rockland County District Attorney's Office. Two Nabbed In Greenwich Avenue iPhone Fraud Attempt Two men were nabbed for attempting to purchase a $1,0000 iPhone using a fake identity. Alberto Lopez-Abreu, 18, and his accomplice, Jacob R. Year-Long Investigation Leads To Pleasant Valley Man's Arrest For Burglary By Red Hook Police A 34-year-old who is wanted by numerous local police agencies for various crimes was nabbed by Red Hook police after a yearlong investigation into a burglary. Igor Ljekocevic, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested Wednesday after he was tracked to Enfield, Connecticut in connection with a burglary last year in the village of Red Hook, said Sgt. Suspect Admits To Defacing Newspaper With Hate Symbols In Northern Westchester Police have found the person who defaced a single copy of The Northern Westchester Examiner newspaper with hate symbols, according to the Examiner News. Once the person was identified and admitted writing the swastikas and KKK on the paper, the Peekskill Police department said the person could not be charged due to First Amendment rights, the Examiner said. Five Children Diagnosed With Measles In Orange County As the number of measles cases continues to grow in Rockland County, new cases are also being reported in neighboring Orange County.Currently, there are 94 cases of measles in Rockland County, and five confirmed cases in Orange County. Child-Care Worker Accused Of Force-Feeding Infant, Greenwich Police Say A 56-year-old child-care worker has been arrested for allegedly force-feeding an infant at a daycare center. Karen Von Tobel of Greenwich was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 12, following a months-long investigation by the Greenwich Police Department's Special Victim's Unit, said Capt. Robert Berry.
