Two Charged With DWI In Rockland Sheriff Stops Two area residents were nabbed for aggravated DWI after being stopped for a traffic violation by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office. Jean Eddyson, 35, of Spring Valley was busted for DWI around 3:53 a.m. Monday after being stopped for a traffic violation on Route 45. During the stop, he was found to be intoxicated and arrested, the Rockland County Sheriff's Office said. Pickup Truck, Range Rover Stolen From Driveway In Greenwich A local resident had not one but two vehicles stolen out of a driveway in Greenwich early Monday. Man With Active Warrant Taken Into Custody In Norwalk During Darien Traffic Stop A man wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear was nabbed during a traffic stop. Steven E. Vasquez, 24, of Norwalk, was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 11, by Darien Police after the vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped for a traffic violation, Det. James Palmieri said. Vasquez was wanted on a warrant for an arrest in Norwalk for which he failed to appear in court, he said. He posted a $1,000 bond and was released with a new court date of Dec. 21.

Man Accused Of Starving, Shooting Horses At Farm In Hudson Valley A farmer has been arrested for allegedly starving and then shooting several horses in the Hudson Valley. Peter DePaolo, 62, the owner of Windy Acres Farm in Greenville, was arrested last week after officials learned of the abuse, said Orange County SPCA Law Enforcement Chief Gene Hecht. ID Released For Man Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train Near Darien Metro-North officials have released the identity of a 50-year-old man who was hit and killed by a train last week. John Hickey, 50, of New Canaan, was struck and killed Thursday night near Darien, said Metro-North officials. The incident took place around 7:35 p.m. Dec. 13 at Noroton Heights. The train had departed Grand Central at 6:49 p.m. headed for New Haven. Hickey was pronounced dead at the scene.  MTA Police are investigating.

As of Monday, Dec. 17, Rockland County Department of Health officials said there are 95 confirmed cases and seven suspected cases of measles in the county. Janaya Michelle Jones-Boone, 38, of Yonkers, was found around noontime on Wednesday, Dec. 12 in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, motel room after police received a 911 call about an unknown problem in the room.  When officers and EMS arrived on the scene, they found Jones-Boone dead inside the room. Police are the public for help in identifying a man who might be involved with a home burglary that took place last week. The man was photographed on surveillance around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, near Barnum and Broadbridge avenues in Stratford.  He was wearing white pants, glasses, a winter hat and was carrying what appears to be some type of backpack on his back.  Stratford Police said he appears to be a painter or taper.
