Woman Bites, Strikes Man While Holding Baby During Dispute, Police Say A 28-year-old woman was arrested by Milford Police after allegedly biting and hitting a man who was holding an infant at the at the time of the attack. Crystal Westcott, of West Haven, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Sunday after police responded to a home on a possible domestic violence call, said the Milford Police. When police arrived on the scene the victim told officers that Westcott was throwing items inside the home and then bit and hit the man who was holding the infant child. Man Nabbed For Attempting To Steal $2K Handbag On Greenwich Avenue, Police Say Police arrested a 24-year-old man after he allegedly hid a handbag worth more than $2,000 in a store and then attempted to retrieve it. Joshua Rodriguez, of New York City, was arrested Sunday by Greenwich Police after they were called to a Greenwich Avenue store and told that a handbag worth $2,150, had been hidden behind an AC unit and was most likely stolen, said the Greenwich Police. Officers set up visual surveillance of the handbag and watched as Rodriguez retrieved it from its spot and hide it in his jacket, police said. Number Of Measles Cases Increases Again In Rockland The measles outbreak that has plagued Rockland County continues to grow as the number of new cases has again increased. On Tuesday, the Rockland County Department of Health said there are currently 114 cases of measles confirmed in the county as well as five suspected cases that are being monitored. That's up by nine from last week. The outbreak began with visitors to and from Israel in September where more than 2,600 people have reportedly been affected. Man Stabbed, Killed During Altercation In Bridgeport Police are investigating the first homicide of the year in Bridgeport following a fatal stabbing on Monday. The incident took place around 6:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, when a 39-year-old man was stabbed during an altercation inside 136 Bishop Avenue, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald. After the stabbing, the victim exited the premises and collapsed on the sidewalk nearby, he said. A witness called 911 and the victim was located by police. 26 Dogs Seized In Raid Of Puppy Mill In Area An alleged puppy mill was busted over the weekend after a person who adopted a dog tipped off officials that the puppies were kept in horrible conditions. The Hudson Valley SPCA Law Enforcement, along with state police, raided a Pine Bush home with a warrant following a months-long investigation into the suspected puppy mill, according to Gene Hecht, the SPCA’s humane law enforcement officer. 27-Year-Old Arrested For Stabbing Another Woman With Scissors, Police Say A 27-year-old woman was arrested for stabbing another woman in the leg during a domestic dispute. Monticello police arrested Joyce R Housman, of Monticello, on Saturday after responding to a home on Park Avenue for a report of an assault, said Monticello Police Lt. Mark Johnstone. Police On The Hunt For Hillcrest Shooting Suspect Police are on the hunt for a suspect following the shooting of a man in Hillcrest. Police learned of the shooting after the victim showed up at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern after being shot in Hillcrest. Ramapo police said the shooting took place around 9:40 p.m. Sunday on East Eckerson Road, said Det. Sgt. Brian Corbett.
