Alleged Wappinger Dealer Nabbed By Drug Task Force An investigation into the sale of drugs in the town of Wappinger led to the arrest of a local man for alleged possession of drugs. On Wednesday, Jan, 16, the Dutchess County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Scarborough Lane in the Town of Wappinger, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator of the task force. The search warrant was a result of an investigation into narcotics sales taking place at and around that location, he said. 'To Catch a Predator' Host Charged With Bouncing Numerous Checks In Stamford Television crime sleuth Chris Hansen of “To Catch a Predator" fame has been arrested for allegedly bouncing several checks for money owed to a promotional company. The former Stamford resident, was arrested Monday for failing to pay for $13,000 worth of promotional materials he ordered to promote his show from a local vendor, said Stamford Police Sgt. Ex-Police Officer In Westchester Kills Wife, Self Police are investigating the murder-suicide of a former police in Westchester and his wife that took place in Orange County on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Body Of Rare Pygmy Sperm Whale That Went Missing From Fairfield County Beach Found One week after a request for the person who had taken the carcass of a rare pygmy sperm whale from a beach in FairfieldCounty to return it, the whale has been recovered. The Town of Stratford said the whale, the first spotted on Long Island Sound, that washed up on Russian Beach before disappearing last month has been found. Northern Westchester Man Sentenced To 17 Years In Prison For Setting Fire To Own Business A Northern Westchester business owner was sentenced to 17 years in prison for setting fire to his own market, endangering a resident who lived above the store. Jesus Cruz, 44, of Peekskill, was sentenced Tuesday to the prison time along with five years post-release supervision for intentionally setting fire to a building where he had operated a market in the City of Newburgh, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office. Suspect Charged In Fatal Stabbing, Bridgeport's First Homicide Of 2019 Bridgeport Police have made an arrest in the first homicide of the year that left one man dead and a woman injured. Kenyon Gay, 41, of Bridgeport and West Haven, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 15, for the stabbing death of a 39-year-old local man following a dispute, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
