Ex-Police Officer In Westchester Kills Wife, Self Police are investigating the murder-suicide of a former police in Westchester and his wife that took place in Orange County on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Body Of Rare Pygmy Sperm Whale That Went Missing From Fairfield County Beach Found One week after a request for the person who had taken the carcass of a rare pygmy sperm whale from a beach in FairfieldCounty to return it, the whale has been recovered. The Town of Stratford said the whale, the first spotted on Long Island Sound, that washed up on Russian Beach before disappearing last month has been found. Northern Westchester Man Sentenced To 17 Years In Prison For Setting Fire To Own Business A Northern Westchester business owner was sentenced to 17 years in prison for setting fire to his own market, endangering a resident who lived above the store. Jesus Cruz, 44, of Peekskill, was sentenced Tuesday to the prison time along with five years post-release supervision for intentionally setting fire to a building where he had operated a market in the City of Newburgh, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office. Teen Trio Nabbed As Police Chase Ends In Crash, Discovery Of Guns, Cash Police nabbed three teens following a police chase that ended with the discovery of three guns and a crash. Four Charged As Heroin, Crack, $9.4K Seized In Poughkeepsie Drug Bust Four people were arrested following the execution of a search warrant that uncovered heroin, crack cocaine and more than $9,400 in cash. Suspect Charged In Fatal Stabbing, Bridgeport's First Homicide Of 2019 Bridgeport Police have made an arrest in the first homicide of the year that left one man dead and a woman injured. Kenyon Gay, 41, of Bridgeport and West Haven, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 15, for the stabbing death of a 39-year-old local man following a dispute, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. Woman Bites, Strikes Man While Holding Baby During Dispute, Police Say A 28-year-old woman was arrested by Milford Police after allegedly biting and hitting a man who was holding an infant at the at the time of the attack. Crystal Westcott, of West Haven, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Sunday after police responded to a home on a possible domestic violence call, said the Milford Police. Man Nabbed For Attempting To Steal $2K Handbag On Greenwich Avenue, Police Say Police arrested a 24-year-old man after he allegedly hid a handbag worth more than $2,000 in a store and then attempted to retrieve it. Joshua Rodriguez, of New York City, was arrested Sunday by Greenwich Police after they were called to a Greenwich Avenue store and told that a handbag worth $2,150, had been hidden behind an AC unit and was most likely stolen, said the Greenwich Police.
