She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Woman, Children Hospitaiized After Rollover Crash One person had to be extricated and three were hospitalized following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Shelton. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Route 108 (Shelton Avenue) and Pine Street, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango. A mother and her two children were taken to a local hospital after the crash which caused the vehicle rollover.  Officials with the Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Company said one person had to be extricated from the vehicle. The extent of injuries was not known.

Firefighters Rush To Luxury High-Rise In Stamford After Fire Breaks Out In Pump Room Stamford Firefighters responded to what they thought was a two-alarm fire at a high-rise apartment complex only to find there was a small fire in the pump room. The call for the fire came in around 11:30 a.m. Thursday for the 15-story AVA apartment building at 50 Forest Street, the department said on Twitter. Once on the scene, they found the fire was contained to the pump area of the garage where a fire pump was smoking.  No injuries were reported.

Bridgeport Man Sentenced To Prison Following Sexual Assault Of Girl He Met Online A Bridgeport man will spend 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met online. Hasan Khalid, 21, was sentenced Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Frank Iannotti to three years, suspended after he serves 18 months in prison, followed by three years of probation. He also has to register as a sex offender and undergo treatment for sexual offenders, according to the Connecticut Post. Wilton Man Arrested On Failure To Appear Warrant A 55-year-old man wanted on a warrant for allegedly evading police during an incident at a Wilton residence.  Rusty L. McClintock, of Wilton, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 8, on failure to appear warrant for evading Wilton officers when they responded to his home for a 911 hang-up call, said the Wilton Police.  He was charged with failure to appear and held on $5,000 bond.

Cos Cob Woman Nabbed For DUI After Running Stop Sign, Police Say A 32-year-old Cos Cob woman was arrested for alleged DUI after police spotted her running a stop sign. Michelle Dupuis was arrested Sunday after being stopped on West Putnam Avenue in the area of Oak Ridge Street when she ran a stop sign and then made a wide turn, said the Greenwich Police. ID Released For 20-Year-Old Killed In Route 17 Crash New York State Police have identified the person killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 17 on Wednesday. Devon Persaud, 20, of Queens Village, died around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 on Route 17 near Exit 129 in Blooming Grove, said New York State Trooper Steve Nevel. Troopers found Persaud's 2007 Dodge Caliber down an embankment, state police said. There were no passengers in the vehicle.  The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Man Sent Indecent Photos, Videos To 14-Year-Old In Area, Police Say A man who allegedly sent indecent photos and videos of himself to a 14-year-old in the Hudson Valley was arrested by police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service. Waldemar Gonzalez, 41, of the Bronx, was charged in Rockland County on Wednesday following an investigation that found he sent several indecent photographs and videos of himself to the victim, as well as offering to meet for sexual purposes, said Spring Valley Police Officer Matthew Galli.
