Two New Flu Deaths Reported In Connecticut Two flu-related deaths were reported in the first week of the year, along with the news of the illness being widespread across the state. According to a report from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, the two new deaths bring the number this flu season to a total of six. Of the six deaths, four were people over 65-years-old, one between 50-years-old and 64-years-old and one between 25-years-old and 49-years-old, the report said. Suspicious Package Closes Milford Police Office To Public The Milford Police Department’s front lot and lobby were closed for about an hour Friday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package. The department announced on Twitter the areas were closed around noon on Friday while officers investigated a suspicious package that was turned in at police headquarters. The department has since reopened after the package was removed from the area.  The department Tweeted: "CSP removed the suspicious item from the Milford PD and will safely dispose of it. The Police Department is deemed safe and is reopened to the public."
