Suspect On Loose After Poughkeepsie Man Shot In Broad Daylight City of Poughkeepsie police are asking the public for help in locating a person who shot a 19-year-old man and left the area. The shooting took place around 2:25 p.m., Wednesday when the City of Poughkeepsie resident was shot once in the leg in the area of 6 Harrison St., said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark. The victim told police that an unknown man got out of a vehicle and shot at him. The vehicle was described as being a light blue Hyundai. Fire Destroys One School Bus, Damages Others In Northern Westchester A bus was destroyed and two others damaged when a two-alarm fire ripped through a bus storage and repair garage in Yorktown Heights. The fire was reported at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday at the Baumann & Sons Bus Corporation at 1701 Front St., according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to damaging the buses, the fire also damaged part of the repair area of the garage and the structure sustained heavy damage as a result of the fire, the fire department reported. Popular Sports Bar In Westchester Seized, Closed For Not Paying Taxes Fans of a popular Westchester sports bar were met by a locked door on Wednesday after the business was seized by the state for nonpayment of taxes. According to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, Chuggers in New Rochelle was seized on Tuesday, Jan. 8 for not paying more than $9,000 in back taxes, said James Gazzale, a spokesman with the department. Woman Stabs Man In The Neck During Dispute In Area, Police Say A 30-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in the neck during a dispute. Search Is On After Body Of Rare Pygmy Sperm Whale Taken From Beach In Stratford Officials with the town of Stratford are looking for the person who took the body of a rare pygmy sperm whale that had washed ashore on Russian Beach. The whale was found in December and examined by Dr. Christian Senft-Batoh, with the town of Stratford, as well as officials with Mystic Aquarium and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, who confirmed that it was indeed a rare pygmy sperm whale, Senft-Batoh, wrote in a letter to residents. ID Released By CT State Police For Man Found Dead On Side Of Road A man found dead on the side of Route 2 by a Department of Transportation worker has been identified. Jermaine Williams, 23, of Vernon, was found around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, on the shoulder area of westbound Route 2 at Exit 4 in the town of East Hartford, said Connecticut State Police.
