Mount Vernon Building Commissioner Charged With DWI After SUV Crash In New Rochelle This story has been updated. The Mount Vernon building commissioner was busted for DWI at twice the legal limit after crashing his SUV, police said. Daniel Jones, 46, a Brooklyn resident, was arrested around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday after New Rochelle Police responded to a report of a crash in the parking lot of the Glen Island Center on Pelham Road, said New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa. Officers found Jones in his 2017 Ford Explorer after he wrecked his vehicle, police said. Erratic Driving Stop In Wilton Leads To DUI Charge For Norwalk Man A 27-year-old area man was busted for allegedly driving drunk after being spotted by a resident driving erratically. Michael Norrholm, of Norwalk, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 2 after Wilton Police received a report from a resident of a 2013 white Ford Focus driving erratically northbound on Belden Hill Road, said Wilton Police. Once stopped, officers found Norrholm smelled of alcohol and was given a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed to perform to standard, police said. Number Of Measles Cases In Rockland Climbs Again The measles outbreak that began in September in Rockland County continues as the number of cases has climbed again. The Rockland County Department of Health reported 105 confirmed measles cases as of Tuesday, Jan. 8, as well as four suspected cases that are being monitored. The outbreak began with visitors to and from Israel in September where more than 2,600 people have reportedly been affected. 10-Year-Old Riding Bike Struck By Vehicle Near School In Greenwich A 10-year-old child riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle near the Old Greenwich School. The incident took place around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, Tuesday, on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. The child, a Greenwich resident, suffered minor non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Stamford Hospital for evaluation, police said. The operator of the vehicle was not charged, Slusarz said. Officials remind motorists to use care in the area around the school which is busy with drop-off, bicyclists and people walking.

Trumbull Business Burglarized Twice In Past Week Trumbull Police are investigating the second of two burglaries that occurred at the same service station within the past week. Accused Dealer Busted With More Than 3 Pounds Of Pot During Fairfield Traffic Stop A 28-year-old accused dealer was busted with 3 pounds of marijuana following an investigation by Fairfield Police. Samuel Burroughs, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was arrested Thursday, Jan. 3 around 4:45 p.m., on Garden Drive in Fairfield, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras. Burroughs was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by the department's Detective Bureau, said Kalamaras. USPS Collection Boxes Burglarized In Wilton, Weston Two town police department are reporting break-ins at several U.S. Post Office boxes over the past week. Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Co-Worker At Deli In Fairfield A former deli worker has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a co-worker by exposing himself while at work and through text messages.
