Raymond Baffuto, of Church St. in New Rochelle, was found around 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, when New York City Police responded to a 911 call regarding a crash involving a pedestrian struck, said the NYPD. Arriving officers found Baffuto unconscious and unresponsive, lying along the Bruckner Boulevard Service Road, the NYPD spokesman said. Rockland Man Sentenced For Rape Of Young Girl A man who pleaded guilty to raping a girl under the age of 13 has been sentenced to 18 years in prison. Nathaniel Saunders, 46, of Haverstraw, was sentenced on Thursday, March 14, on one count of rape which took place between Feb. 1 and March 31, 2015, said Acting Rockland County District Attorney Kevin Gilleece  The sexual molestation occurred in the Village of Haverstraw, the DA's office said. Bassick High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat Students have been dismissed from Bassick High School due to a bomb threat earlier in the day, said Bridgeport Police. The threat was received around 11:38 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the school at 1181 Fairfield Ave., said Terron Jones, spokesman for the police department.  "Students were dismissed, the building was cleared, and police are investigating," he said.  No further information was available.
