Two-Alarm House Fire Displaces LaGrange Family A LaGrange family was left homeless after a two-alarm blaze ripped through their Johnson Road residence. All I-95 Lanes Reopen After Man On Bridge Safely Removed Interstate 95 has reopened in both directions in Westchester after a man on a bridge overpass was pulled to safety. The incident began around noon on Friday, March 15, when the man was spotted on the overpass at North Avenue in New Rochelle, said New Rochelle Police. State police closed the highway in both directions for at least two hours before the man was pulled to safety by first responders and a round of applause from onlookers. Rockland Should Opt Out Of State's Move To Legalize Recreational Marijuana, Day Says Rockland County Executive Ed Day is the latest leader in the state to urge "opting out" of the move to legalize recreational marijuana. In a statement on Friday, March 15, Day said the legislation needs to be totally studied before being enacted. Police Stop On I-95 Thwarts Potential Kidnapping By Estranged Boyfriend State and local police managed to thwart a kidnapping attempt that began after the suspect's vehicle was spotted on I-95 in Bridgeport. The incident began early Friday, March 15, when a woman was dropping a child off at school, said Bridgeport Police Spokeswoman Rowena White. The female was allegedly forced into a vehicle by an estranged boyfriend and taken from the scene, she said. Man Suffers Burn Wounds In Northern Westchester House Fire Police are investigating a Northern Westchester fire in which a man was found suffering from burns in nearby woods. The fire took place 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at 250 Smith Ridge Road in Lewisboro, said New York State Police spokesman Trooper AJ Hicks. According to Hicks, the Lewisboro Police Department and state police responded to the area for a report of a man running through the neighborhood. All Lanes Open Following Four-Vehicle Crash On I-287 In Westchester This story has been updated. A multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 in Westchester that closed all but one lane of traffic has been cleared, state police said. The crash, which included two passenger vehicles and two tractor-trailers, took place around 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, on the Thruway in Port Chester between exit 10 and 11, said Trooper Tara McCormick, spokeswoman for the New York State Police. One person was injured during the crash. Currently, there are slight delays.

ID Released For Victim Of Apparent Targeted Murder In Orange County The man who was shot to death in Orange County has been identified by the City of Middletown Police. Sebastian Avilan-Median, 26, of Middletown was found around 12:25 p.m. Monday, March 11, when the City of Middletown Police responded to 23 Knapp Ave., for a reported medical emergency, said City of Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry R. Thoelen. Upon arrival, officers located Avilan-Median in the upstairs apartment, dead from a gunshot wound, he said. Suspect On Loose After Person Shot In Bridgeport Police are on the hunt for the person who shot another, causing non-life-threatening injuries in Bridgeport. The shooting took place around 6:19 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in the area of Terrace Circle, said Bridgeport Police spokesman Terron Jones. Police report the person was shot in the wrist and was transported by private vehicle to the hospital, he said. The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
