She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. State Police Offers Specialized Training For K9 Units From Across Country Seven K9 teams from throughout the country recently graduated from the Connecticut State Police K9 Unit's specialized training focusing on detecting electronic storage devices. The Connecticut State Police K9 Unit trained the world’s first electronic storage device detection K9 in 2012, using proprietary training methods. Ramapo Police Nab Man Wanted For Murder In Florida Following Attack On Officers A man wanted for a homicide in South Florida was nabbed by Ramapo Police following a carjacking and a fight with police. Alexander Martinez, 51, of Carteret, New Jersey, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, after police received a call about a man attempting to gain access to an office on Route 45 in New Hempstead, said Ramapo Police Lt. Route 55 In Lagrangeville Reopened Following Serious Crash Route 55 in Lagrangeville has reopened following a serious crash, said state police. The crash took place around 3 p.m. Friday, March 15, just west of the Taconic State Parkway, said the New York State Police. Multiple vehicles were said to be involved. Two-Alarm House Fire Displaces LaGrange Family A LaGrange family was left homeless after a two-alarm blaze ripped through their Johnson Road residence. All I-95 Lanes Reopen After Man On Bridge Safely Removed Interstate 95 has reopened in both directions in Westchester after a man on a bridge overpass was pulled to safety. The incident began around noon on Friday, March 15, when the man was spotted on the overpass at North Avenue in New Rochelle, said New Rochelle Police. State police closed the highway in both directions for at least two hours before the man was pulled to safety by first responders and a round of applause from onlookers. Rockland Should Opt Out Of State's Move To Legalize Recreational Marijuana, Day Says Rockland County Executive Ed Day is the latest leader in the state to urge "opting out" of the move to legalize recreational marijuana. Police Stop On I-95 Thwarts Potential Kidnapping By Estranged Boyfriend State and local police managed to thwart a kidnapping attempt that began after the suspect's vehicle was spotted on I-95 in Bridgeport. The incident began early Friday, March 15, when a woman was dropping a child off at school, said Bridgeport Police Spokeswoman Rowena White. Man Suffers Burn Wounds In Northern Westchester House Fire Police are investigating a Northern Westchester fire in which a man was found suffering from burns in nearby woods. The fire took place 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at 250 Smith Ridge Road in Lewisboro, said New York State Police spokesman Trooper AJ Hicks.
