Cop, Slashing Victim Hit By Minivan Outside Farmingdale Hookah Bar
Numerous people were injured, including a Nassau County police officer, after a disturbance and slashing outside a popular hookah bar.
The incident began around 2:45 a.m., Saturday, April 20, when police were called to a disturbance at the Mystique Gardens Hookah Lounge, 365 Conklin St., said Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun, Nassau County Police spokesman.
When the officers arrived they observed a male victim that had been slashed in his neck. As they approached the victim, he ran north into a municipal parking lot and collapsed, LeBrun said.

ID Released For Teen Critically Injured In Officer Involved Shooting
An 18-year-old teen who allegedly crashed into a police cruiser and then drove toward a police officer is in critical condition after being shot by one of the officers, said the Connecticut State Police.
The incident took place around 5:59 p.m., Saturday, April 20, when two Wethersfield police officers attempted a motor vehicle stop of the suspect’s vehicle, said the state police.
The suspect, identified as Anthony Jose Vega Cruz, of Wethersfield, then allegedly hit the police cruiser on Silas Deane Highway, between Mill and Maple streets, state police said.

Man, 60, Hit, Killed By Vehicle On Sunrise Highway In Wantagh
A 60-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross a roadway in Wantagh.
The incident took place around 11:57 p.m., Saturday, April 20, on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh, said Nassau County Police Det. Gary Ferucci.
According to detectives, while attempting to cross south to north on Sunrise Highway at the intersection with Wantagh Avenue, Hoilario Perez, of Bellmore, was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet, which was traveling westbound.

Baldwin Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing 11-Year-Old
A Baldwin man who works as a teacher in East Flatbush has been arrested by the New York City Police Department for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl, said the NYPD.
Daniel D. Santiago, 29, was arrested around 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 15, said the NYPD.
Santiago, a teacher at the Brooklyn Science and Engineering Academy, reportedly had sexual contact with the student at three times, Assistant Brooklyn District Attorney Wilfredo Cotto said during his arraignment, said the New York Post.
