The incident took place around 11:35 a.m., Monday, April 22, when Greenwich Police were contacted about a boat overturned by Lucas Point, said Greenwich Police Lt. Former Suffolk County Police Commissioner Dies Longtime retired Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer died at his home in Northport. Dormer, 79, died on Sunday, April 21, following a three-year battle with cancer, said the Suffolk County Police Department. Dormer joined the department in July 1963 and was among the first 800 officers in the young department’s history, they said.
