Man In Stolen Vehicle Arrested Following Chase In Northern Westchester, Police Say A 20-year-old man is being at the Westchester County Jail after taking police on a chase by car and foot, said the New York State Police. The incident began around 5:15 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, when Simeon A. Sanders, of Middletown, refused to stop when troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML350 on East Main Street in the town of Cortlandt after being advised the vehicle was stolen and in the area, said Trooper AJ Hicks. 47-Mile Chase Ends With Dwai Motorist Crashing Into Ditch With Three Kids In Car, Police Say A 44-year-old man is behind bars following a 47-mile chase that ended when he crashed into a ditch with three children in the car. The incident took place around 4:52 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, when New York State Police attempted to stop a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Plattekill for a vehicle and traffic violation, said Trooper Tara McCormick. Two Injured In Trumbull Head-On Crash Two people were injured during a head-on crash on Merrimac Drive in Trumbull. The crash took place around 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, with both the Long Hill and Trumbull Center fire departments responding for a possible entrapment. When units arrived on the scene they found two vehicles with heavy damage and two injured, but no entrapment, said the Long Hill Fire Department. Trumbull EMS personnel treated the patients. Search On For Suspect In 7-Eleven Armed Robbery Police are searching for an armed suspect who held up an area 7-Eleven store. The incident took place around 4:10 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, when the man walked into the store at 801 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, said the Naugatuck Police. The suspect pointed a black 1911 style handgun at the clerk and demanded all the cash from the registers, said police. The suspect then fled the area. Man Charged After Becoming Abusive With Other Customer At New Canaan Restaurant, Police Say An area man was arrested after he allegedly became abusive with another customer at a New Canaan restaurant. Grant Dimille, 58, of New Canaan, was arrested on Thursday, April 18, after New Canaan Police responded to a call of a dispute between two customers at the Press Burger on South Avenue, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, Dimille was verbally abusive towards another customer and created a disturbance inside the restaurant. Woman Killed In Northern State Parkway Crash A 25-year-old woman was killed when she was ejected from a motorcycle during a crash on the Northern State Parkway. Passenger Carina J. Castro Perez, 25, of Westbury, was killed around 8:44 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, east of Exit 26N in the town of North Hempstead, said New York State Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim. A preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle traveling eastbound in the left lane, lost control and struck the center median, he said. Area Woman Accused Of Embezzling Boy Scout/Cub Scout Funds An Orange County woman was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $13,000 from both a Boy Scout and Cub Scout troop while serving as a chairperson for the groups.
