18-Year-Old Dies After Being Shot By Officer, CT State Police Says
An 18-year-old who was shot and killed in an officer-involved incident after allegedly crashing into a police cruiser and then driving toward an officer has died.
Anthony Jose Vega Cruz, of Wethersfield, died on Monday, April 22, according to the Connecticut State Police who are investigating the incident.
The shooting took place around 6 p.m. on, Saturday, April 20, when two Wethersfield officers attempted a motor vehicle stop of Vega Cruz's vehicle on Route 99 (Silas Deane Highway), state police said.

Teens Charged For Shakespeare Theatre Fire Nabbed In New Vandalism Incident At Silver Sands
Two teens who had previously been arrested for allegedly burning down Stratford's historic Shakespeare Theatre, have been charged by state environmental police with allegedly burning two storage containers and other vandalism at Silver Sands State Park.
Christopher Sakowicz, 18, and Vincent Keller, 18, both of Stratford, were arrested on Monday, April 22, in connection with the vandalism and fire that occurred on Sunday, March 24, at Silver Sands State Park in Milford, said the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (EnCon) Environmental Conservation Police.

Man Faces Strangulation Charge, Norwalk Police Say
A man was arrested for allegedly choking another person during an argument, said Norwalk Police.
The incident took place around 9:52 a.m., Friday, April 19, when the Norwalk Police Department was contacted about the attack, said Norwalk Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino.
When police arrived on the scene at the Adamson Avenue home they found the victim who told them that a verbal argument turned into a physical confrontation where Brian James, 46, allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck, making the victim unable to breathe, Gulino said.
