Two In Custody After Fleeing Hit-Run Crashes In Rockland This story has been updated. Two men were nabbed with the help of the Clarkstown Police Department's drone after fleeing two hit-and-run crashes. The incident began around 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, when the Clarkstown Police Department received a call from an Orangetown police officer that a hit-and-run car accident occurred at the gas station on the corner Waldron Avenue and Route 59 in Central Nyack, said Clarkstown Police Det. Measles Outbreak Prompts Good Samaritan Hospital To Ban Children From Visiting With the number of measles cases in Rockland at 199 and counting, one hospital in the county has changed its visitor policy to ban children under the age of 18. Officials at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern said that any children under the age of 18, regardless of their vaccination history, are prevented from visiting the hospital, unless it's for treatment. Suspect At Large After Two Shot In Bridgeport Police are still searching for suspects in the weekend shooting of two men in Bridgeport. The shooting took place around 2:30 a.m., Saturday, April 20, at Pembroke and Arctic streets, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Police were alerted to the shooting by the department's gunshot detection system, he said. When officers arrived on the scene, the two had already arrived at Bridgeport Hospital by private car. 431-Pound Bear Euthanized After Confronting Resident, Ransacking Connecticut Home A 431-pound bear was euthanized after entering a home in Connecticut, confronting the homeowner and then ransacking the kitchen and dining room. The incident took place early Saturday morning, April 20 when a Simsbury homeowner walked into his kitchen and was met by the huge bear who was looking for food, said Lee Sawyer, spokesman for Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Gas Line Struck, Forcing Evacuation Of Office Building In Rockland The Clarkstown Police Department is on the scene of a gas line rupture in New City. The incident took place around 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, at 337 N Main St.; the building, a professional office building, is being evacuated for safety reasons, said the Clarkstown Police. Mother Accused Of Leaving Kids In Car While Shopping In Trumbull A 29-year-old mother has been arrested for allegedly leaving her two small children in an unlocked vehicle while she went shopping in Trumbull, said police. 18-Year-Old Dies After Being Shot By Officer, CT State Police Says An 18-year-old who was shot and killed in an officer-involved incident after allegedly crashing into a police cruiser and then driving toward an officer has died. Beacon Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle A woman was slightly injured when her elbow was hit by a vehicle pulling into a parking spot in Beacon. Man Faces Strangulation Charge, Norwalk Police Say A man was arrested for allegedly choking another person during an argument, said Norwalk Police.
