Woman Attacked After Ex-Boyfriend Breaks Into Town Of Poughkeepsie Home, Police Say
An out-of-state man was arrested for allegedly breaking into an ex-girlfriend's Town of Poughkeepsie home and attacking her while refusing to allow her to leave.
Jan-Michael Mohan, 29, of Festorville-Trevose, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Monday, April 15, after the victim was able to leave the home and notify police of the attack, said Town of Poughkeepsie Capt. Kevin Faber.
According to Faber, Hohan made entry into the residence without permission and during an argument placed his hands around her neck while applying pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe.

Two Men, Woman Arrested Following Altercation At Northern Westchester Tavern
Three people were arrested following an altercation at a Northern Westchester tavern that left one man injured.
The incident began about 11:10 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, when a dispute broke out among several people who knew each other inside O’Connor’s Public House at 222 East Main St. in Mount Kisco, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police.

Tuberculosis Case Confirmed In Westchester
The Westchester County Health Department has learned that a Monroe College student at the New Rochelle campus was diagnosed with active Tuberculosis, the department said.
The student, who is not from Westchester and is being treated, is not on campus, and is expected to make a full recovery, the health department said.
The department, working closely with Monroe College, has identified and notified any students and faculty who were exposed, to recommend and offer free evaluation and testing, they added.

Drunk Driver Crashes Mercedes On Front Lawn Of Putnam Home, Police Say
State police nabbed an area man for alleged drunk driving after he crashed his vehicle in the front yard of a Putnam home.
The incident took place around 8:30 a.m., Sunday, April 14 on Tammany Hall Road in Patterson after he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed his 2012 Mercedes, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
When police arrived on the scene of the crash, they arrested Miguel E. Vegavega, 35, of Carmel, for DWI, said Hicks.

Murder Suspects From Vermont Caught In CT
Two men wanted for a Vermont murder were nabbed in Connecticut by police who located the vehicle they were fleeing in on I-91.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, when Enfield Police officers were alerted by an outside agency that Brandon Sanders, 18, and Johnny Ford, 32, were wanted in connection to a homicide in Burlington, Vermont, said the Enfield Police Department.
Sanders was located in a vehicle traveling northbound on I-91 near Exit 49 and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
